Wow I'm so glad I read these comments. I was called by Mariella and didn't have my details with me so was given a number to call back. My alarm bells were going off but they make it sound very legit as I did do a survey for them. But I won't call back now if its a scam. I normally don't answer private numbers!

Got phone call saying I won a 10" filter pure water system about 3 weeks after doing phone water survey and just need to pay $134.90 for cartridge - they would like you to buy another filter cartridge in 1yr but could alternatively buy one from local hardware store as it would fit. Would be in our area within fortnight ie. by 7 February 2014 and wanted credit or debit card number and stated they could not access funds as per RBA requirement on them. I said I would think about it and she told me to ring her back on 1300 009 308 and ask for Robyn Rankin as there were two Robyn's. I am not phoning her back as it is a scam.

What sought of company rings you up trying to sell chinese made water filters, 4 times dearer than anyone else and offers free airfare tickets to have someone come to the home and pressure you for a sale. Beware this terrible company.

I have received a same kind of call and they told me that I have won the purifier system but I have to buy a cartilage of $130. They gave me the same number to call back but after seeing this I am not calling them back.

I got a call from the same company. Did a phone survey a weeks ago and then called me to say I've won a promotion and needed to hold my order by giving credit card details without having to give the security number at the back. Good thing I got their number which isn't the same as the website and I was on a computer to check them out while they were on the phone. Told them I'd call them later but I won't.

it is a scam. It is important to put something in writing to ensure that the bank can get your money back (with your email proof of cancelling your contract) if they are to take money from your card/account. I found it very difficult to find an email address for them but here it is- info @ purewater.net.au

"I have phoned to cancel my order for the water filter and was told over the phone that this was successful. I am also sending this in writing at this time to ensure that the company are aware that you are not given access or authorisation to access my credit card as this cancellation was made in the cooling off period. I was concerned with the safety of your company as an invoice was not provided, nor was anything in writing, and the phone service when cancelling my contract with you was unprofessional and dodgey. I have also cancelled my credit card and noted that there are a number of complaints about your company on line at present from many others.

You are not authorised to take any payments from my credit card or to access this in any way.

I am still waiting for email confirmation of my contract with you being cancelled, and if I have not received this in the next 48 hours I will be lodging a formal complaint with Consumer Affairs"

i have also received a call from this company and so forth after doing a survey told them i was busy and i wanted a number to call them back got given the same 1300 009 308 contact which is obviously not theirs. they guy i spoke to was Rob. So its a scam but a nice one at that you do get something for free apparantly as long as you buy the first part its very crafty selling technique in deed. i will so not be ringing them back.

Systems so I have cancelled my credit card.

just recieved a call saying I had won and needed to pay for the filter I said Id think about it. Her name was Kathy White. sounds dodgy

I had a call today and was congratulated on a winning of a water filter. I was said I only needed to buy a cartridge, that could last one year. The lady gave me the above number and named herself as Cathy Clare. She was quite persuasive, and I gave her my visa numbers. She gave me my invoice number and said the money would be taken from my card on 28 June, as 2 weeks should be a cooling period. I was promised to be sent all the info by mail and by e-mail. Have not received an e-mail yet, and started getting worried. I know now I am not the only one and am going to warn my bank about that.

I think its a scam because i got a call from them as well.The caller said her name was Trudie.She asked me for credit card details to buy some cartridge for the water filter that I won, according to them.

did a survey and 3 weeks later got a call to say I've "Won" a purifier. want me to buy the filters. I told them I'd think about it and did research... I think not. Unless they want to send me my "prize" first and then I'll buy their filter :)

Caller gave this number for Pure Water Systems and required credit card details in order to deliver a 'free' water filter? Pure Water Systems seems to be a legitimate company but this is not their number. (Refer www.purewatersystems.com.au)

Same as previous comment, number to call back for Pure Water Systems. Caller said had won a water purifier but wanted credit card details because would need to buy filters that cost $130 each.
