Scammed

It is most definitely a scam. I recieved a call from Kevin saying all of the above - free purifier, pay for filter after 2 weeks, "personal number" 1300 009 308, reference number blah, blah. Tried to say no but they were very pursuasive. Even checked the Pure Water Systems website and they talked me through it making it seem legit - not hard to look at a website and tell you what you want to hear.
This all stemmed from a survey call a week or so ago.
The number that called me was a private number - very odd in itself.
Watch out anyone who did this. Cancel your card and report to your bank about this ASAP.

I had this lady call multiple times a week for a few months saying the same re: water system and to pay for a cartridge.
I ignored it for a while and then blocked it.

This scam is still going on. I just got a phone call today and said I have won a purified water system which cost $400+ but I just have to pay $134 for the cartridge filter. I don't know why I gave my credit card number as they are very persuasive. After I read all these comment, I quickly cancelled my credit card, and I will not going to answer their phone call. I hope they won't be able to find me.

I also just received the call saying I'd won a purifier and had to pay $134 for a 12 month water filter. Her name was Tracie she told me about boiling lemons in the kettle before used the purifier for the first time so make sure that it was purified from all the toxins that would have built up in it... Didn't give my credit card details but asked for more info to be emailed through first. She said she would email it through but received nothing. Got a missed call and voice mail today asking if i'd received the info and to call them back on a 1300 number. Hmmm... suspicious...

My partner filled out a survey and also won a free $130 water filter tap which he does not want as it sits on the bench and not under the sink however we could pay another $150 and they can put it under the bench. They said but the cooling off has passed but under consumer law Australia telemarketing and cooling off periods require a contract to be signed by both parties and this did not happen. Off to Consumer Business Affairs we go. This is a scam for sure.

Beware of this. It's a scam and still going. Today(22 September 2014) I have received a call from a lady telling me the same things the above folks have mentioned. Earlier this month I have received a phone call from them asking for a survey and not to worry he is not going to sell me anything. Very sneaky indeed.. Anyhow the lady today told me that I have won a water filter for a water purifying system valued at $400.00 +. All I need to do is pay 137 dollars. I told her I don't need this as we have a hydrotap water system at home valued at 4000.00 so we don't need this. I am a firm believer in 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is' - I jumped online to see if there are any warnings about it and came across this website. Very clever and sneaky indeed.

This is a total scam, the system is only worth $100 at best. They have called from a private number and gave me a number to call back which was the 1300 number. I looked at the test results on the pure water website that they claim are for there CC1E water filter cartridge but right there in black in white it states another filter was tested that was made to the same formula as their filter. What a load of rubbish. Something should be done about how this company operates.
