This phone number being used to do surveys - seems like the same people that have been using (08) 9447 6498

The owner of the number is breaching the "Do Not Call" regulations and, despite calling from within Australia, is somehow able to circumvent the Telstra bar on nuisance calls.

Called -rang up on answer. Unable to call back -suggest blocking.

Appears to be a scam from people trying to access your computer.

This number called me and then I called it back and got a disconnected message from optus

I had a call from this number supposedly collecting data for my area to implement improvements according to population and resources needed. Very bad echo on the line and the lady spoke with possibly an Asian accent. Blocked the number but when I looked for it here, it appears to be a regular number.

This is an overseas call center mirroring an Australian phone number. They usually pick unconnected numbers, but not always.
This is done to circumvent caller ID.

Asian accent woman asking for personal details. I quoted lines from Taken and she hung up.

Just received a call from this number requesting personal information. Line was bad - it was echoing. Female voice, sounded Asian. My number is on the "Do Not Call" list so they are breaching this. I hung up after about 10 seconds and blocked the number.

Said he had rung the wrong number, apologised and hung up

Phishing scam.

I just had a call and the caller was female and sounded foreign, perhaps Filipino.
She disconnected before speaking to me, directly.

Very annoying. 3 calls from this number this week. They say they are conducting a survey. I tell them to stop calling me, I'm not interested and to take me off their list. But obviously they dont havent.

This number called me claiming to be doing an Australia Post survey to confirm my Postcode and suburb. Quoted a postcode where I lived several years ago. Wanted my current post code and suburb. I quoted the Perth city postcode and suburb (even though I don't live there) and they said thank you and hung up. What was the point of that?? Some form of weird spam / scam / fraud .

Have just had a call from this number. It has called me numerous times in the past too but there is never anyone on the other end when i answer until today.
They initially said it was a survey but they sounded like a telemarketer, would not have surprised me if i found out this is a scam too.
Being the sarcastic person that i am when i know a phone call is a scam, i told them they had interrupted a very important international business phone call that i was in the middle of as i was about to go bankrupt and had to ring my chinese restaurant to place an order.
They seemed happy with my excuse and bid me farewell. LOL

Caller claimed to be from the Australian Homeowners Alliance doing a survey of homeowner needs in my postcode. Male Philipino voice. He couldn't explain who the organisation was so I politely declined to participate. Sounds like a phishing expedition.

`No Message left, I call back and Optus says its disconnected!

Same as the others - something fake American accent apparently doing a 1 to 3 minute survey for Australia Post or something. Stated the postcode from where I used to live 5 years ago.
