Caller: A scammer

A woman with a heavy accent told me she was from Telstra and that someone was using my internet without my knowledge. I said yeah, nice try scammer and she hung up

I called back number (08) 9358 3116 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

Caller: Pretended to be Telstra

Received call from this number and they informed that there were suspicious usage of my home internet and asked me to turn on my computer.

I asked several times why were they calling, however it was very hard to understand as they had an accent.

I asked where are they calling from and they said from Melbourne, however phone number was from Western Australia. I told he was a fraud and if he would like to contact me, please send an email to clarify.

Caller: Said they were Telstra

I only answered this number because it showed as a LOCAL area number and I thought it might be an emergency about my elderly parents.
caller said "hello I'm from Telstra" (we're not with them) and launched into a spiel which I interrupted with "why would YOU be calling me" she continued with "we're the biggest provider of Internet in Australia and... Oh Sorry" and then hung up!! It's truly despicable if these scam bastards can now use local numbers instead of the usual VOIP prefixes that make them easy to pick.
