Caller: Officer Chris Jordan from Home Affairs & ATO Australian Taxation Office Canberra System automated call about my name is being fraudulently used in a scam and I have a legal proceeding being conducted against me... message says to press 1 to connect for more info... male person answers phone - there are huge amounts of background noise of what is quite clearly an overcrowded call centre, lots of foreign voices and noise of other phone conversations... I ask who he is and what does he want - person on phone expects me to believe he is Officer Chris Jordan from the ATO Canberra (phone id comes up as Perth) ... I ask for his staff identification number and get something like 417J2742 Officer Chris Jordan but he doesn't tell me what section/area he is in so I can call him back... he asks for my full name and other info... I tell him my name is Chris Jordan... and he hangs up... finally the twit picks up that he cant scam me... When I call back the number (08) 9217 6521 I get a real service message saying 'the number is not connected, please check the number before calling again'.
