Voice message received to mobile from (08) 8967 1832 - claiming to represent the Australian Taxation Office and that I am under investigation and that my house is currently under surveillance. I called the number back and spoke with 'David' I pretended to be scared and asked him how much do I owe and does he accept Visa, which stumped him for about three minutes before he hung up.

Call to Australia from Asian Call centre. Predicative dialer time delay before operator spoke, claiming to be conducting Solar Panel Rebate Exam....

...I don't have Solar Panels.

For the past two months or more, this same company, sometimes stating it is Green Solutions, offers us Solar Panels - first to my husband's mobile, then our home landline phone, then my mobile, usually one after the other, and my husband has been getting the calls sometimes more than once a day. For weeks we just asked to be taken off the list, and in the last fortnight, we asked to speak to the supervisor - and then they hung up ! We are on the DO NOT CALL register. I rang CBS and a lovely lady named Veronica googled the number and nature of the scam (solar panels) for me, and saw hundreds of reports about this mob harassing the community.

I called back number (08) 8967 1832 just kept on ringing no one answered the call and never got any voice mail.

Scam, automated message left regarding tax avoidance & surveillance is being carried out.

Call to my mobile. Automated voice claiming it be from Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions saying my name was in affidavit from ATO, my house under surveillance...do not ignore this call.. phone back on 0363...(I didn't have a pen). I can see that this would really worry some people.

I've been getting this auto-mated message for months. Scam.
I'm sure if the Tax department did want to contact me it wouldn't be there a robot recorded message.

Just received the call from (08) 8967 1832. Claim to be ATO, have affidavits, under surveillance etc etc... Tried to call back, number disconnected.

Darwin number saying I am under investigation for tax fraud. I live in NSW. Called the number back and they said I am under investigation and do I have a barrister 🙄🙄

I had a call from this number, I could not answer it. It left a message about the taxation office and the australian prosecutors office needing me to call them back or there would be serious consequences. My house was under investigation apparently.

Same here - Computer voice with a Melbourne number to ring to respond... strangely haven't...

my 17 year old just had exactly the same message from (08) 8967 1832 (he answered the call) scared the living daylights out of him. the automated message left him a number to call back 036349048!

Received a voice to text threat from the caller saying an affidavit against my name had been lodged and I was a primary suspect 'for the keys' which maybe was meant to be the police.... ridiculous crap. I found it amusing but I can imagine it would freak some people out.
