Had a call from Alex who said he was from the Richmond Group. Was doing research and needed to know if I worked, then if my husband worked. From there i told him our number was listed on DO NOT CALL registers; where did he get it. He said from and old version of the white pages. I told him I was not listed in the white pages......pretty dodgy!

I just got a call from these guys ... again. They asked for someone else whom I have received calls for before, including one from "telstra" saying that Mr B's computer had just sent them a security issue message. What a load of BS! I challenged this chap and essentially showed him that their plan was not working. Everytime he tried to talk, in an ever increasing volume I cut him off. This resulted in him hanging up on me! Now my wife just hangs up before they even say anything ... I prefer to listen and then tell them what I really think. Tonight was about a study of the types of workjers in our area ... again BS because that is what the national census is for. They do try many ploys to get personal info as TJ pointed out probably to do robberies .. beware and ignore them. Also, no website for them exists.

Like all of you I've been called by their "offshore call centre" on behalf of this Perth based business. They called on a phone registered on the Do Not Call Register.
Will be making a complaint to the authorities if I can figure out how.

Just had a call from Overseas. Claimed to be Brooklyn Advisory and said they had to reschedule an appointment with my husband on his request re a Tax audit from the Austealian Tax Office. When I asked for me husbands details he supplied my initials but could not give full names. He then asked if I intended to work full time for next five years and perhaps the initial appointment had been with me. It wasn't. Definitely a scam. Number supplied was (08) 8967 1821. But it came from overseas. Indian accent. Very polite.

Different number but Indian lady tried to talk to me about whether or not I was working. I answered her question with a question: why do you what to know, for what purpose? Some baloney about statistics for my area. so annoyed by these time wasters who think we are stupid.

LOL Cindy just phoned me too! I asked her for their company website. She told me .. it didn't exist .. so I kept challenging her .. next thing she apologised and hung up. I have a whistle next to my phone now - next time I get a call, they will not get a warning - they will get a blast in their ear!

Just got a call from the Richmond Group in Baulkham Hills, asking me to complete a survey, beginning with: am I working and what do I do? I asked him why he wanted to know, who are the Richmond Group and why I should give him any information. Said he was from a survey group, that's it. Couldn't understand why I would not want to answer his questions...
About an hour earlier I got a call from a firm in Newcastle who asked me if I had a car accident in the past year. I am so tired of this mob calling me. I explain I am on the do-not-call register, but they don't care. In the past I have spoken to the supervisor asking how they got my number and why I should give them any information. The man asked me why I had a telephone if I don't want people to call me!!! Asked him not to call me anymore, but then I got the phonecall today. I believe this is harrassment!

I just received a call supposedly from the Richmond Group at Baulkham Hills, he hung up when I said I wasn't in the 24-55 age group. He was Indian sounding. Market Research companies are not covered in the Do Not Call register, nor are charities. It's only for telemarketers.

Similar call received from a woman with a heavy Indian (?) accent identifying herself as Cindy, claiming to call on behalf of a market research company called the Richmond Group, based in Baulkham Hills (which just happens to be a nearby suburb). The sound quality was very choppy, with a long delay suggesting it was coming from overseas. She kept pressing hard for personal details, firstly focussing on whether I was working or a pensioner (obviously so she could select an appropriate script to initiate a scam). DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION! I kept her on the phone for almost 10 minutes, while I checked everything she said (online), constantly asking her to repeat every word several times, saying I could not understand her because it was a very bad line. I even got her to call me back, TWICE, before I got bored and started asking her if she knew what the DO NOT CALL REGISTER was. Damn right she did! I was able to give her a decent serve while she switched into apologetic mode and tried to get off the hook while maintaining some semblance of her cover story. There's only one form of idiot worse than this one, and it's anyone who gets sucked in by this bull***t. Wanna play silly games? Sure, let's play - you're paying for the international call.

'Alex' called asking for 'Mr or Mrs Xxxxxxxx' - correct surname with incorrect pronunciation. Asked where he got the number, he said it was from an old version of the white pages. Claimed to be from the 'Richmond Group'. Informed that the number is listed on the 'Do not call' register and that the call was illegal. He gave (08) 8967 1821 as the contact number and said that they were based in Adelaide.

They claim they abide by the data protection laws, but when I asked who provided them with what details they had, he could not (would not?) tell me. We have received call from a couple of companies who seem to have similar data. If they say the company is in Hayes Street Perth, ask them which apartment. It's a block of units as Google shows: http://goo.gl/maps/VaK8S. I have politely told him that by giving my physical address they will have even more information on us and then I refused to do anything more than give him a hard time. He was polite but insistent. I got to play polite bully, so that was fun. Has anyone actually met with their "consultant"? Oh, and there's a real Prosperity Group working out of Wodonga and Corowa and I think they get blamed a fair bit as their contact page shows: http://www.theprosperitygroup.com.au/contact.html

We have been continually called from "Prosperity Group" supposedly based in North Adelaide. When questioned about not being in the white pages and not showing up in online searches, they said the site was under construction. Have advised that I will report them if they ring again. Do not give your address.
