Uber is using it as a spoofed caller-ID for their australian call centre

They called me from this # regarding my uber things !

Caller rang saying he could save me $50 per month despite him not even knowing what my current phone arrangement was. I told him I was on the "Do not call' register and asked him did he know what that means. He said 'Oh, yes!' and the line went dead.

i know its bad but i call this number a lot just to find out the things about it.... whenever i call creepy music plays and i press numbers to speak to the main office people but then they hang up and make weird nosies like its haunted

It was for an interior designer in Australia, I first thought it was a cursed number and tried calling with my friends, but then I got a male voice telling me to press one if I would like to speak to the receptionist

That's what happened to me. We are a medical centre so can't just not answer numbers. Frustrating.

Yep same as above - about having a accident recently or falling over in a supermarket.

Indian Call Centre, problem is there calling my works number

I got a call from (08) 8888 8888 and it was somebody (foreign accent) trying to get me to put a claim in for compensation.  When I said I didn't want any phone calls she said she wasn't trying to sell anything but asked if I'd had any accidents.  I said I'd had no accidents and she then told me to think back three years.  I repeated I'd had no accidents and did not want to make any claims.

the caller wanted to speak to my daughter about her Aviva shares, and would not give me his number as caling from US. So iI said she wasnt available  and hung up. It showed as 08888888 on my phone. The caller gave name  but not company. i suspect it was scam.

Got a call from this number today21/4/11 from what sounded like a Indian lady and there were numerous other people in the background.

She said she was calling about my computer and had noticed that I had several viruses.
She said she was a microsoft engineer.
I told her I thought she was a criminal attempting to gain access to my computer and hung up.

Sounds like an Indian call centre. When I asked why they were calling they hung up.
