The minute the company you owe money to sell your debt to a collection firm they knowingly cant come after you for the money. Once the contract between you and the people you owe to is sold to another firm for collection they break your contract with them leaving it null and void. Not many people are aware of this. Be smart!!

I received a scam hoax phone call from dodgy Credit Corp (08) 8448 0672 on my unlisted private phone number and they did not leave a message and when you ring the number back they will not disclose their organisations name so I blocked the number. The last time I had credit was 20 years ago. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) produces a Debt collection guideline for collectors & creditors https://www.accc.gov.au/publications/debt-collection-guideline-for-coll… Unnecessary or unduly frequent contacts may amount to undue harassment of a debtor. The ACCC recommends that you do not contact a debtor more than three times per week, or 10 times per month at most.
