Caller: She said she was Jennifer Olsen NBN 4201663

Said modem was old and needed to make appointment to come and replace it. She gave me a name Mike Lee ID NBN 95426601, who would be calling 24/1/22, and the NBN contact number (08) 8121 8321, which I looked up and saw mention on this website. She then asked for my mobile number to send a confirmation text - that my friends would be how they access and download some form of control software to your phone. At that point I asked if she was just a f-ing scammer to which she insisted I was a f-ing bitch, which I am confident I am not as I am male. She then hung up in my ear.

This call was supposedly from NBN, saying that my NBN Box was outdated and needed replacing, also that that my computer software would need upgrading for better internet security, I allowed them to access my computer, (stupid me) and they hacked my Paypal Account and spent $5k on it, then took $2k from my savings account. Please be aware of these scammers, who are all Indian and very convincing.

Same sort of thing, Daniel Johnson will come. I thought at first it may be genuine because they knew my name and address. Didn't get as far as credit card details but did get my mobile number.

Wanted to change Copper wire to Optical Fibre. I said I was too busy and asked for the phone number and she gave me the one above. She tried to make an appointment for a technician to ring me, but I said I will ring you.

Walked in in my poor grandmother on this call
She took all the same information down
Knew her name and address
Apparently Daniel Johnson is coming to change her modem on the NBN on Wednesday between 9-11
Technical department number (08) 8121 8321
As soon as I got on the phone they knew they had been caught, kept asking for $6 and put me on to the ‘supervisor’ they got really rude then
I told them to bugger off and she won’t be paying any $5 fee

Luckily she rang me via her mobile while on the call to check with me. They had rung off by the time she went back to them.
THis number was given as the contact if any problems.

Called me by name, knew my address, said my NBN modem was an older version and was causing slow responses. Offered to post me a new modem. My alarm bells started ringing when he asked for $5 postage and pay on my credit card. Unlike some people I know I will never give my card details to a cold caller. I said NO! He hung up! Later I rang his number (08) 8121 8321 and got "number disconnected recording". SPOOFED NUMBER.

Claimed to be from NBN - obvious scam - passed me over to the ‘technician’ who tried to arrange a visit to our house. Calling back tomorrow - look forward to it - so much phishing etc going on under Covid lockdown etc.

Called me and seemed to know we'd had a bit if trouble with our internet. Sounded legit, until they wanted a small amount for delivery. No matter how many times I said I wouldn't be paying anything they got more insistent until I was put through to the 'supervisor.' He was just plain obnoxious. Played it until he hung up in frustration. 🤣

Dangerous scam! Sounds like a genuine call from NBN but eventually they want your credit card number on pretense of a delivery fee for Aust Post. They seemed to have our address and phone number and name so somehow scammers have got hold of that info!
Report any calls from this number to scam watch!

Called my Dad claiming an update to NBN. He never falls for these scams but this sounded really legit. Sent an invoice, with this phone number and a gmail account. Charge was $5 for postage. Called the number back from a different phone and they answered unprofessionally, and when I asked some basic questions they hung up on me. Definitely a scam.
