Same situation. An indian woman called my home phone claiming that my computers have been hacked and data was stolen was from computers. Her name is "suzi", and I asked her to verify that she is genuinely from Microsoft, and she asked me to call this number.

So I told her to put me on hold while I 'call' this number - on the other hand I was just searching online to get more information of the number to see whether it was a scam. However, she "unhold" me a few times and asked whether I was calling the number. How would she know that I have not been calling the number?? From that point onward, I knew it has to be a scam!!!

Be careful guys!

Same old same old. Thanks for posting earlier ones - even though you know these are likely to be scams - you still wonder

They called my boyfriend and he asked them for verification of who they were. He gave a name "Martin" and the phone number of their company. We looked up the number and found it to be a scam. So for the next hour we kept calling them back, giving them a taste of their own medicine and telling them we "were calling from microsoft and that their computers had been hacked".

Needless to say they did not appreciate the calls and repeatedly hung up on us.

Best way to turn this situation around and have a giggle. Aussie style.

Same situation. I was told the caller was from Microsoft and that I had infected computers and that hackers were downloading my data. I asked how I could verify this and they told me to call (08) 7200 0370 and ask for Bella. I knew it must of been a scam as Microsoft would not handle it this way.

Also was approached by same scam. "Sean" gave me this number. So who does it belong to?
