I have had many calls from this number (and 6228 4010) since 27 February 2014. I have never answered and on 9 May they rang four times within an hour and a half, I was so peeved I called it back in the afternoon. The message said it was Telstra but when I rang Telstra's 132200 to complain I was advised it wasn't a Telstra number!! They can keep ringing, I ain't going to answer!!!

Recieved calls for 4 days running now. One after the other. Its a sales add for Telstra. Even though I was fast enough to answer one call they still keep coming. Thanks Telstra!

Annoying. Constantly ringing. Received 8 calls from this number in the last 2 days. Absolute crap as I am on the no call register & it still calls

Same unanswering incoming phone call recurring. Not answering now after first call. If so important can leave a message. Getting hopes up won a raffle but just a recurring dumbo call!! Very annoying!!

I have also had this number call me 9 times over the last 2 days, I have not answered it and it once went to messagebank said a name that I could not quite understand then hung up. I'm sure if this was legit they would leave a message.

I've received 4 calls at 30 min intervals from this number two days ago, then another 2 calls this morning. I've answered two of the earlier calls with 'hello', to which they respond with one 'click' and no other sound. If the above comments are right, I'm not sure why they're still calling after I've answered two of their calls.
I'm overseas and on roaming charges (which Telstra is aware of), so annoyed at these potentially expensive calls from Australia. Will try the Telstra 'Do Not Call Register'...

Called me today 4 times so far at 50 minute intervals. Each call lasts 5 rings then hangs up. Definitely robotic in nature.

I had a voice message (as my answer greeting is silent so they may have thought I answered) and there was a man saying 'hello, hello? When I called back the ringing was slower than the normal rings you hear & it just disconnected

Another guy I know called them back and said that it was telstra - I called them back and it does say it's telstra "thanking you for being a customer". telstra advise they are unable to verify whether it's a marketing call but just template respond to call their marketing dept to unsubscribe.
Who calls you 3 times in a day to thank you???

I just got this call today. It's likely they are polling numbers to find out which ones are active so they can be spammed by further calls.

Oh, I forgot to add - probably also so persistent so that you call back the number. I can't be arsed calling possible scammers back.

I received 3 missed calls on this phone number - I did not call back - and I looked at this page before I even answered to test Bigbirds theory. On the fourth I answered the phone and did not say anything at all. there is no audio on the other end of the line - it just hung up after 2 seconds according to my log.
My theory is that it's an autodialer looking for known active phones - this is possibly as a 'test' line - maybe recording to see if you answer with your name, so a scammer or other undesirable can know your name.
I'm not sure if 2 seconds is long enough, unless you answer your phone as "$name speaking".

this number is an automated dialer that hangs up when you say something or make a sound. I don't know its purpose or what they gain out of it but its quite obviously dodgey. the number for this dialer used to be (08) 6228 4010 and has changed to 6228 4055 since it last called me.
i would like to work out if they pay for their calls because i am considering getting a hands free set with a mutable microphone to see how long i can keep it from hanging up hehehe.
