They are an NSA or CIA recruiting company. They pay good money to turn you into an agent.

This number has called me 6 times this afternoon... annoying and frustrating....I rang it back out of interest and it's just a Telstra recorded message to say they were looking to ensure that I was happy with their products and services. Why couldn't they just leave a voicemail saying that????

I've had several calls from 08 6228 40XX numbers. I've reported them to Telstra. Telstra always thank you for reporting and say that they will take action, but it's still going on. Seriously, am I expected to believe a huge company like Telstra with busloads of lawyers can't stamp out a telemarketing scam claiming to be them that operates from clearly displayed phone numbers that they themselves probably supply??? Telstra are using money that I pay to them to employ a company to harrass me with calls and I am NOT happy about it.

It's Telstra!! Got sick of the missed calls so I called back.. "Thank you for calling telstra and for calling back, the reason I was calling was to say thank you for being a Telstra customer" blah blah. Oh I forgot to mention this was a recorded message! Buggar off! I can't believe that Telstra wastes some of the excessive profit they make on optionless consumers (that's right, Telstra is our ONLY available service provider here!) on waste-of-time telemarketing!!! I am already on a damned contract what more do you want, leave me alone! My answer machine message says "Telemarketers, don't call back!" yet they still call! Can I not sue them for this?? It's like trespassing!!!

Yes this number is calling me once everyday .. Really annoying!! I've blocked the number on my iphone hopefully that works ..

If this is really Telstra how do they not know what services I am signed up for? Every service that they called about I am already using. Even Telstra would not be that wasteful.

Telstra confirmed on facebook that this number is a scam trying to sell you 'Telstra' products and getting your credit card information

Received a call from this number 12.44pm 20/5/14, I answered the call, then the calling party disconnected.
Received a call again 10.35am 23/5/14, I did not answer.
Received a call 10.17am 26/5/14, I did not answer.
Received a call 6.37pm 26/5/14, I did not answer.
Received a call 6.53pm 26/5/14, I did not answer.
Received a call 7.08pm 26/5/14, I did not answer.
Received a call 7.24pm 26/5/14, I did answer, then hung up straight away with out speaking.
Beyond a joke. I am expecting more calls from this number, Harassment complaint and AVO will be sought on next call.

This number has been ringing at all hours any time 1000 pm on a Saturday night to a number that belongs to elderly lady that lives on her own this has happening over the last month receiving 4 -5 calls a week . Could this number please not call (08) 6228 4055

Telstra have advised that it is a scammer, and have recommend that you ask for their name and employee number, they'll most likely hang up once they can't provide these.

It is Telstra, supposedly to say thanks but actually doing a satisfaction survey and trying to sell discounted football and cinema tickets.

Ordinarily I would say just block this number, but she did volunteer one useful bit of news: that their ordinary customer service phone number was experiencing long delays and that they were going to put some more people onto working through these calls. So I suppose that if you had a current problem with Telstra you could get this caller to report it for you.

This is definitely telstra. When I called the number back today (20/5/14) there was an automated response stating Telstra was calling regarding their 'Thanks' program and to ask how everything was going with my service.

My experience is that the call from this number was not a scam or a sales call. As at 19/5/14 it's Telstra (more likely an outsourced call provider such as Stellar) doing a "Thanks for being a customer call". They are promoting their new "Thanks" program. It's strange to get a "thanks" call from a telco but not intrusive or too annoying to warrant some of the comments below. Plus it's an Australian call centre and giving people a job.

I answer the call. They informed about the Telstra "Thank you" program. That as a Telstra costumer you can get cheap ticket to the movies, footy & concerts. Did have to give any personal details (wouldn't anyway) & that was it.

This person keeps calling my mobile. I don't know them and don't want their calls

I have also complained to Telstra directly, lets see what they come back with!
