I got a same kind of call and the she told me that Govt. has decided to pay 50% tax to some of the randomly selected persons. She gave my her details like Application No. A612, Dept. No. (02) 6100 3584 and a phone no. (08) 6102 0584 that is Perth Head office. She asked my name and then my mobile no. which i refused to give her. Upon asking what other details she need, she said it is a confidential program run by Govt. so they don't need any other detail. But to receive $10000 i would need to donate $200 to UNICEF. I completely refused and then she hang up.

i got call from Unknown number and said the story about credit rating paying bills, taxes and stuff on time and have no criminal records has result in $10000 grant from federal Department Canberra. Then when I asked him for his detail he gave Name as Chris Bryan with his Emp id A860 0055 and call Reference number A840 as reference number and ask me to call on (02) 6100 3584 Canberra to ATO head office. I rang on the number and I can clearly hear the previous guy with same tone calling others (probably small tiny little call centre lol..) and this another blog repeat the same story and start asking first name for the Cheque to be made from one of ATO’s bank account which is only in ANZ, CBA & Westpac (idiot don’t know ATO only have acc. in Reserve bank)

got same call from amy. didnt called other number after reading these posts.

Same call & same message, no one should reply these calls, all are scam no one is going to give you money for nothing. Also ATO never contact over the phone they will contact you through post....

Same caller Bloody Sam Anderson. He even told me to go to ATO website. To get all the details.

I got the same call today from a girl named Amy and surprisingly she new my name and my exact residential address

got same kind of call yesterday then i called ato to report spam obviously our call is important to them but you have to wait20mins so i hung up

They just tried to con my mother too. Said because I had not declared bankruptsy and paid my taxes, I was being offered a one of $6400 grant. Heavy Heavy Heavy indian accent picked up.

I got call from a lady who was not able to speak English, but kept saying you will be getting $6400 from ATO. Asked me to call (08) 6102 0584to get further details. Said the reason I was selected for this reward as I was a good citizen , with paying my bills on time also having good credit history. Called this 08
61020584 spoke to Sam Anderson who said I will have to pay
$300 to " UNICEF" by Weston union, then call him to provide with the receipt number ! So hat he can continue with the application. On asking if can call ATO office direct to give the receipt number, he said yes I can call then ask for Sam Anderson then the call will be transferred.called ATO OFFICE WAITED FOR long 45 minutes spoke to the consultant n was informed not sure what he hell I was speaking. This is the way Australian citizen is being treated as well the ATO OFFICE WOULD NOT TAKE MY COMPLAIN FORWARD THAT THIS IS EFFECTING INNOCIENT AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN, SPECIALLY ELDERLY PEOPLE. I REALLY THINK ATO OFFICE NEEDS TO PASS ON THIS MESSAGE IN NEWS N MEDIA TO STOP HAPPENING THIS, AS THEY ARE AWARE OF IT NOW.

A Jenny Williams phoned from (08) 6102 0584 stating that she is from the ATO [although no one by that name works there] and because I was a good taxpayer I was awarded $6,000. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!

i got same call couple of hour b4. i dont knw bou i think they jst making story. guy told me his name was simon anderson said u won $6400 but u hv to pay first $300 to UNICEF then they give me money 6400. i said y u dnt pay on my behalf and give me rest 6100. they didnt ans me back with quite good reason.

I had same call just few minutes ago telling me she is calling from ATO and my husband has won $6400 which I can claim on his behalf by calling Perth head office at (08) 6102 0584. It is bogus call.

We got the same prank call from this number saying John Smith calling from ATO and you have been selected for grant of $6000 from ATO as policy declared by Julia Gilard to reimburse amount who have good criminal record in last five years.

same story........I had the same call asked me to donate $300 to unicef via western union and then they provide me a pin on behalf of that I will receive a sum of $6400 from any one of the bank. what the fuc......................................
