this is a scam call

Scam caller - kept trying so blocked the number

I am fed up with these type calls. Is there not a law against them. I have a terminally ill wife and they hog my lines when I need them. Just another one added to the blocked list.

Spoke to a guy and with the background noise could tell it was a call centre. He apparently was given our phone number from the Road Safety department and was calling about some road accident. I asked who he worked for and he said JB Solicitors. I asked for the address and he said he works at Level 8/109 St George Terrace Perth. I asked for his name and he said it was "Peter Smith" (probably should have come up with a better name considering his accent), but strangely he refused to provide me with his DOB. I have no idea why he refused to answer my question and I thought it was pretty rude that he hung up the phone shortly after...

Really? I get at least one call a week from these scammers. Each time a different re-routed Australian phone number. This time (08) 6102 0426. After they identify themselves I answer with laughter followed by go try scam someone else. then they hang up. I too have an unlisted number. Time to cancel the landline altogether I think and go mobile only.

This number called me but by the time I got to the phone they hung up. I'm glad I didn't answer it even if I got there in time after reading all these comments I would have gone off my head at them. These people are nothing but lowlife scum....

Two calls today - both to our landline, and hang up when our answer service comes on.

Just got a call, said he was Steve from accident investigation. Told him not interested and hung up.

Number rang me at 1:44 PM ...I did not answer !

Number is now blocked !!!

Did same to me

They call a number of times per day, even after telling them they are scammers.
If possible block the number, hopefully they won’t recommence from another line.
Serial pests, scam has been about for a long time.

Got a call today, said they were from some Solicitors office doing an accident investigation on a fender bender I'd had in December. He didn't ask for any bank info, just info on accident. I didn't give out claim info or anything, just said that my insurance company had settled this claim, he did ask for a rego of the other car involved and their contact details, but I couldn't bring them to hand at the time, so he said he'd call back later . He had a foreign accent and it did sound like a call centre in the back ground.

Said "we have been notified that a member of your family has had an accident in the past 12 months". I said "go away" and hung up.

Call from Accident investigation: told him I am not talking to you - go away! Then hung up.
Stupid people — we can tell it’s a scam as there is a time lag from you answering to the scammers talking.
Really don’t you have better things to do?

Had a call from the "Accident Claims Department" this afternoon - I asked 'Jenny' how she slept at night, to which she said "None of your business". I asked whether she had bad dreams as she tried to rip people off and she said no she did not. I asked who the Minister for this "Accident Claims Department" was and she told me his name is Alan Walker - so I said I would Google that name. 'Jenny' asked what showed up in the Google search and I said some musician that I had never heard of. She said how can you not have heard of Alan Walker and whether I had heard of Justin Bieber - I said I had heard of Justin Bieber but was not that familiar with his work. 'Jenny' then said she would like to talk about musicians/artists some other time and hung up...

I constantly get calls from this number but they hang up when I answer. My landline is a silent number also. Goes to show Telstra doesn't protect our silent numbers...

Said his name was David and he was from the accident insurance office. Claimed that I was being sued for an accident I was involved with and that for a fee of $1500 he could get it stopped. So obviously a scam, had a foreign accent and lots of noise and talking in the back ground. Asked him when and where it happen, they hung up.

James from Accident section. I said no thank you and hung up.

Said it was accident investigation dept and then hung up!!!!!!!!
