Said Name was Mike Williams, Foreign accent, Background noise like a Call Centre. Said from Accident Investigation, very slowly, did not sound very confidant in talking.

The only calls I get these days on the landline are from scammers on my silent line.This does not even look like a legitimate number

They have been ringing landline and hanging up when answering machine cuts it.

SCAM CALLS, they don't pay attention to silent lines... they use auto diallers to dial number ranges. Silent line is of no relevance or interest to SCAM CALLERS...

A silent number just means it is unlisted not that it is not known. scammers, especially ones that ignore the no call register, just call every number in sequence without knowing or caring if you are a silent number.

@Brent. How does a silent number stop it being called? It just means its not listed. But any idiot can dial a series of numbers, your phone will ring if they happen to dial yours. It cant magically make it so only people you approve can call.

Had 4 calls so far today to our business number. First call asked if I had had a car accident in the past 12 months, and hung up when I answered not at all. Next 3 hung up as soon as I answered. The number they call here is one of our indial numbers, which must previously been a residential number, rather than a business number. I often get similar calls where the caller hangs up as soon as I advise this is a business number.

Called our business saying they were from accident investigation, couldn't tell me a person they wanted to speak to, just that someone from this phone number was involved in a minor accident. Clearly scammers.

I scream down the phone now I get so many. one guy one time asked if I was alright he seemed in shock nice to annoy them back!!

Despite the "08" prefix on the Calling Number I/D,these calls are from overseas and if you ring the number you will get a message which says"The number you have called is not connected".The caller dials into some form of software which then makes the outgoing calls to Australian numbers.There are lots of these scam callers around these days,all using the same technology,and for the life of me,I can't work out why Telstra won't do something about it,especially as they are able to bypass the Silent Number restrictions.Personally,I give them a foul mouthed gobfull-Seems to work !!!

Today 2 missed calls from this number again im sure its the same number about a bloody car accident (08) 6102 0426 - adding it to true caller

had this call before, scammer motor accident. do not answer any more and they do not leave a message.
