The guy said "gday my first name, this is peter from.."
it sounded like "be and easy" or "bet n easy" then I hung up.

Caller: William Hill about the merger

This isn't a scam as far as I can tell - they don't want anything from me us to tell me that my William Hill account has merged and alerted me to an email I had (which i had) about how i can log-in to the new site.

However they did call me back again which I ignored and then came here and went - Oh yeah those guys.

if you have a william hill account then thats why if not, not feel free to block i guess

So yea, this number has been calling me flat out, maybe 1-4 times a day everyday for months. I never answer these numbers because it’s always a scam on insurance salesmen but thought I might this time. Nothing on the other end and call terminated after about 6 seconds. I called the number back and it claims to be the Australian contact center (whatever that is) so I did the same thing, let an operator answer, stayed silent for about 10 seconds then hung up. It’s actually kinda fun, iv done it about 20 times now and I’m on a plan so it’s all free, if we all give it a try I reckon it might be enough to atleast frustrate the operators 😄 give a try!

Missed the call so I called back. They said I had reached the “Australian contact centre” I asked what Australian contact centre and they must have searched my number because they said they were calling on behalf of William Hill which is a betting app I had signed up to. They said even though I don’t use it they would like me to check the emailfrom William Hill so I could be up tod ate with their name change.

Missed call from this number so I called back. (They didn't leave a message, grrr).
Was put on hold but got through to a real person in reasonable time. Other comments are right about the strong Australian accent (Queensland based company). They said they are a company called Australian Contact Centre and were calling on behalf of William Hill (of which I am a customer) to inform customers about the upcoming merger with Crown Bet. They then went into a long spiel about the changes and how it would affect my account.

They knew my name without me offering it so obviously already had my phone number details on their system. They didn't ask for any personal details and didn't ask for money.

I assume they are a third party call centre who are contracted out by various business to inform customers of upcoming changes.

Not a scam from my experience, but as always good advice is to use proper precautions when returning unsolicited phone calls. Rather frustrating that they didn't just leave a mesage.

This number has been trying to call me for months ... I called it back and it said they are closed and the company is called Australian Contact Centre..... Don't know them and i have a big feeling it is a scam

Call comes up from Southport Queensland. Let it go to voice mail...Some bloke saying he’s Ricky from William Hill betting agency. Strong Aussie accent. Blocked the number!
