The calls are coming from southport on the Gold Coast if they were a charity or whatever they would leave a voice mail . And to the guy who calls himself ( stop complaining so much) go f*ck yourself! Just because you don't have a life and can sit home all waiting for the phone to ring to make a new friend most people work and sleep and have better things to do!! Your probably the prick Making the calls! Why don't you change your name to Brown-Noser !!

You obviously work for them or are the one calling to know all this. And the call I received was from Brisbane, and you are from there too, obviously. Please stop calling when we do not answer, because after calling us 100s of time we still wont answer. All you should have said otherwise is, block this caller. That's simpler.

I live in NSW. As all the telemarketer calls I receive are from QLD (07) I let the phone ring out and then add to my block sender list.

If the caller is genuine (from a company I deal with) they have other means to contact me (email or post).

Don't bother returning the call as they do not have the capacity to answer. Also, don't put your name down on the Do Not Call Register as this has no effect and only serves to tell the marketers your number is genuine.

Callers from this number are spamming my father with text messages saying someone named John has won a prize, as well as constant phone calls, which he answers and tells them to stop calling, but they insist he is John and he has won a prize. His name is not John and being spammed is not a prize.

Piss off mate, some of these charities spend more than 50% of what they raise on paying themselves before a cent gets to anyone in need. And any normal person or company would get the idea that if someone inset answering they don't want to talk. They are pushy which is why people do not answer

The best way to deal with this is to answer and straight away ask to be taken off the list :)

They are just selling tickets in a lottery to support surf lifesaving. Ring their 1800 number - 1800 642 999 and they are quite happy to remove you from their calling list. No big deal.

It's all well and good to say get over it. There are people suffering certain mental illnesses at home that prevents them from answering the phone to unknown numbers or any numbers. I think telemarketers, whether they be charities or not, should have a limit to the number of times they can ring. As for the 1800 number, these people cannot pick up the phone to ring out, so that is also not an option. I've tried putting my number on the Do Not Call register, shouldn't that be enough. Maybe there could be a check box to include charities as well.
