Got a call from this number this morning saying they were from Westpac, who I bank with, and knew my name. She said there had been some over charging of fees on my account and as per new Government legislation, they could be refunded with 8% interest. I was asked to confirm my ID with date of birth. I didn't, but asked if she had a number I could call back on, she hung up!! Scam +++. Have contacted Westpac. This number should be disconnected.

They called me after 8pm so cant be legit telemarketer definitely a scam

I had a call from this number a while ago,missed call - deleted.

This number rang my no call. Indian lady told me she was from banking and finance . I hung up. She then called me straight back and harassed me.I yelled at her not to ring back again, and hung. Number was (07) 4658 3545

Said she was from the Australian Bankers Association, doing a survey on how happy I am with my bank. Knew my surname, asked me to confirm it, I just kept saying 'who is calling please', asked which bank I was with & how long I have been with them. Have looked up the Aus Bankers Assn & found they know about this scam http://www.bankers.asn.au/Media/Media-Releases/Media-Release-2014/Bank-telephone-survey-scam - do not give out any details!

2 calls now from an Indian accent speaker mumbling something about solar rebates.
When told we are on the no-call reg. they hung up.

Called me asking for Mr. (My Surname) when i asked who was calling said his name is Frank, when i asked where from he hung up. Indian man.

Hi I am looking for the owner of the house.

Also go a call saying they were from the Australian Government and asked about solar panels. When I said we had solar panels for power she hung up without another word. Tried ringing back but no answer or message saying message bank is full. Reported to do not call register.

Don't be tricked by the Australian number. These are overseas scammers. Just block the number

Yes, Indian call centre wanting to talk about solar panels etc - hung up when I asked if they knew my number was listed on the "do not call" register

This number rang and was a scammer telling me she was from the "Ausralan Bankers". Scammer I answered as it came up as a local phone number. Reported to Telstra ( didn't care), scam watch and the AFP

These people have rung me three times now claiming to be calling from the Commonwealth Bank. They tell me I have been overcharged with certain fees and am eligible for a refund. Not hard to guess where this is going. I questioned whether the bank would deal with the matter in this way and suggested she write me a letter. She said OK and hung up. Foreign accent, of course

Obviously a Scam and a worry if you happen to have a silent number at home.... Suppose Telstra will not be interested but will still take your money each month to retain a silent number which these idiots can still obtain :-(
