calling from KUA, about a recent "car collision" I was in. Knew my name, when I stated that I wasn't involved they quickly hung up.

Irish guy, said he was calling regarding a claim on a vehicle accident, knew my first and last name. I said I had not had one he apologised profusely using my name and told me I;d be put on the do not call register? Then he hung up. I could hear other people in the background when the call first came in and him laughing and talking, it seems the call is dialed for him? It sounded just like a telemarketing call so I was suspicious before he even spoke to me. I called back - the number is busy, I checked this site and decided to block the number. Don't panic people, it's ok if someone knows your name and number. Just ignore them and don't say anything. If you are really worried lodge some paperwork with the QLD Police to cover your back. Peace out and be kind to one another :)

But what are they trying to achieve? I just got the call, before googling and reading this, I also replied that I don't know what you're talking about and he hung up...what is the scam?

Good to know this is a scam. I've had two calls like this in the last two years. Last week it was this number. I was a bit concerned the first time because not long before the call an Indian man had reversed in to my car & damaged my car with his tow bar. I hadn't gotten around to claiming and the driver took off and didn't get my name. I decided it was a scam really because of that, luckily by the looks. That first caller had an Indian accent so the call was almost plausible and I guess that's what they're hoping for. Some of their victims are likely to have had a recent accident!

I have had constant calls from this and often different people - saying I have been in an accident, ask them what sort of scam and they say its not as they have not asked me for any of my details... They end up hanging up on me as I ask them too many questions. SCAM

Answered the phone, realised it was a tele marketer or the like and told them not to call me . The d*ckhead's reply was "don't answer the phone then" Really, Hey idiot, it's my phone so dar, i'm going to answer it. Get a real job moron. I have better things to do than speak with a person who is missing a cromosome.
