Same as everyone above. Probably calling from overseas. More interesting than the usual calls about solar panels or replacing halogens for free!

Yes Tanya, the phone number is the same still: (07) 3483 0456 although the local Police Station i phoned to report it said the scammers change the phone number regularly, so they cant be easily tracked. The police also said, i will receive a couple in that batch of follow through calls to my voicemail.

Today, I received two computer based recording from the Australian Taxation Office claiming that I have been accused of Tax invasion and to return the call immediately. A real person, male with a Asian accent answered my phone call, asked for my first name and then said correctly my surname, in which I responded with a question, is this legit? His last words were, get ready to be arrested and then hang up! What's his purpose? Unsure. No information about me was exchanged.

I had the same message 2x today from (07) 3483 0456 .. my house is under surveillance or as robot lady says , "civilance "

Same as above. They rand and left a message on my mobile so I called back.

Should We call the Police ?

I got the same phone call as the other posts obviously a scam .

Same as most of the other posts here. I did actually try to call back and got an automated response with US accent... really..? the ATO? I dont think so. Besides if there was an issue my accountant would call me ASAP. All Bullsh*t i reckon.

This would freak out an older person who didn't realise that you can't trust anyone or anything these days.
Wouldn't it be great if we could spin these pricks around and get them to work for good and not evil?

I had a call from this number (07) 3483 0456. It was an automated recording supposedly from the director of prosecutions head officed in qld. Recorded message telling me someone has filed an affidavit against me and I had better call back asap or I would be in serious legal trouble also my house was meant to be under surveillance according to the recording.

I had the same automated american accent leave a message on my mobile message bank. Rang it back to have no answer then they rang me back again (an indian accent) & I couldn't hear them very well, phone breaking up& delayed like it was over seas. Got the same speech as the above posts. Told him to f*** off & not call me again & hung up. Contacted ATO & they confirmed it was a scam
