Its an Indian call center. They are able to redirect using phone numbers that are from the area where you live.

These guys rang yesterday, and two times today, they have be told I have solar already and not to call. They are driving me nuts and I have now reported them to "do not call register" being that it is a re-routed Australian Number.
I am sick of these bastards taking up my phone line and my time. There has got to be better consumer protection. I was told the only way I could stop overseas call centres flogging stuff was to stop all international calls. This is ridiculous I am getting 2-5 calls a day now. I don't even bother answering "privates", thus the new trick no doubt of re-routing through BRisbane. Bunch of shonks.

I answered the phone with "I already have solar energy and I give to two charities".So this indian guy says-"so youre going to tell me what I'm calling about ".So I said "I get 25 calls a day about solar energy"-(a bit of an exaggeration but I'm over it). Then there's this silence as I'm waiting for him to tell me why he's ringing. So I said 'so are you going to tell me what you want or not'.Then he tells me I'm very rude and says Goodbye. So I say "Goodbye, have a nice day".So I reckon I wasn't rude, I was in fact a smart ass and there's a difference. If youre going to ring me unsolicited then that's what you get!

Constantly getting calls, today my home phone and mobile rang at the same time from this number. I'm on the d.n.c. Register, makes no difference. Sick of it!

Solar panel scam from India. I let them talk for a bit, but the guy tried to confirm my address to a house I haven't live in for 10 years. When I called him out on it, he started swearing incoherently.

I immediately demand to speak to the supervisor/boss/employer and get told "he is not here", so I informed the caller that he is in a call centre and therefore has everything at hand to transfer the call to any number in the world so he can put me through to his supervisor regardless, he back pedalled and went quiet, then called me darling and and I told him it is not my name.. he went to try and speak and I told him I had not finished speaking and he was not to interrupt. I informed him that my number is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER and therefore calling my number is ILLEGAL and added legal action would be taken if anyone called me again on any number associated to me.. with that he appologised repeatedly and said he won't call again

This number has just called me at 8:22pm. I am on the do not call register and I didn't answer the call as I did not recognise the number.

If there's a pause in answering unfamiliar numbers, hang up immediately. They usually won't ring back. We have had this number a few times on different days, but have not actually spoken to anyone. It's probably some shonky scam as per other people's comments above.

Had 6 calls from these people this week. Very hard to understand because of their Indian (?) accents. They all said they were from Real Solar in Queensland. All were very rude and they hung up when I started questioning them. Do Not Call Register is a waste of time as they are still able to get peoples phone numbers. With all the computer technology these days it is virtually impossible to stop these callers as they 'know how to dodge the system'. Last call I got I just let it ring. Maybe they will get the message if you don't answer them because they sure as hell don't take NO for an answer!

The call was from an unknown Solar company. Due to my skepticism of the number of calls we receive from these types of companies when they did not know who "the owner of the house" was and refused to supply any contact details to verify their identity I did not provide any details to them or give them time to ask for any. They have called several times this week asking my husband if we had solar panels and what they're used for. I am unsure whether they are a scam or real company / if they have simply re-routed their number to some poor persons phone number in Queensland / if they are getting leads on behalf of a real solar company somewhere else BUT I get the feeling they are dodgey in some way and am sick of receiving their calls.
