They aren't buying phone numbers. They are using internet phones that bypass exchanges. In a sense it is a computer making the phone and software making it look like it is a number, when it isn't. makes things very difficult to trace as they are not using a 'carriage service' in the traditional sense.

John:- Yes they are wankers!!, But if you do not answer, they will just ring the next on their list.
Answer the call, keep them amused for as long as you can, do not buy anything, whilst they are talking to you, (to no result), they are not annoying some other poor bugger!!

Over the last month we have had 5 calls from this number. We tell them each time we are not interested and to stop calling. Today my husband said we had solar and already had our rebate and to stop calling. So they asked him if we had window rollers!!! He hung up!

If you have NBN and one of the better cordless phones you can block these calls. I hardly get these calls now because my phone blocks them

I love it when the wankers ring because I never pick up.please if every one adopted this method they would soon tire of ringing.imagine if you rang people all day and no one answered.i know I have a warp sense humour but I am laughing out loud right now.when you are laughing at the losers its hard to get cross with them.

Had a missed call from this number and no message left. That's usually a dead giveaway that it's dodgey. Thanks to the people who have taken the time to record their experiences. I have blocked the number

I had a call from (07) 3053 5951 ( 5 mins after picking up a call from (03) 9689 5258 the Melb number had called 3 times in an hour exactly every 20 mins..on the 3rd call I picked up with no answer on the other end...I'm not sure if they are related but it felt like the melb number was checking to see if anyone picked up and when I did, it instigated a call from the Qld number) either way...they are telemarketers who do not abide by the "Do not call register"
