My 84yo Mum just got scammed by these lowlifes. Paid them $440 while they most likely stole everything on her computer along with her identity. They implied that she had been hacked and her computer was running slow (which it was but because she has a poor internet connection). Have disputed the transaction with her bank and changed all her passwords. Will be reporting the theft to police tomorrow. So pis..d off.

Caller: Didn't catch his name.

Rang me using the number 03 (03) 5244 1419 but when I asked for a contact number he gave me (07) 3040 9898. Told me I had problems with my PC - Indian accent. Played along with him for a while - usual questions I asked to validate who he was & said he worked for Solutions Info Software. Obviously another bullsh*t wanker. Very aggressive when questioned - should be some type of law to stop these wankers & if they live in Australia should be deported or find out their home number & bombard them with these crap calls.

This number called my father and insisted that he give them access to the computer.. they sounded legit and did sound as if they were from an authentic Help Centre... Luckily we googled the phone number and came across this page... DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!!

Told me my computer was at risk with many errors and they can help fix. I told her it was not my computer. She asked who owns it. I told her my son. She asked me if I use it. I said I don't know much about computers. I told her I will have my son call her - she gave me this number. I decided to google the phone number and found this complaint board.

Had someone with an Indian accent (as usual) call but this time about Windows 10 and a problem I had. Told him none of my computers use Windows 10 (I usually tell them I have 2 or 3 to confuse things), suddenly that was the problem. Told him I had to go and would ring Microsoft and ask for him when I got back. He said that would not work but I insisted that as it was the same company they would have to be able to put me through to him. He then gave me this number to ring as soon as I was back and to as for him, his name being - wait for it - Charles Wilson (very Indian). But after looking at a number of the comments I think it must be run by the Wilson family. There’s been Janet, Peter, James and now Charles.

Was told that she was representing Widows. Told PC has virus and is running slow. Left her name and phone number so my husband could ring back. With her amazing perspicacity perhaps she (Janet Wilson) should be working for NASA.

Caller claimed be from Windows and taht I had a problem with my computer and she needed remote access to fix it. When I asked her name and contact number (which she gave) and when I told her I would ring back she ended the call. I have confirmed with Microsoft that they knew nothing of the company she purported to be from. I would recommend you contact your ISP or Microsoft before allowing access to your computer to verify the caller, the company they say they are from and contact your ISP or Microsoft to verify the callers details.

These scum bags are still at it. The latest one is 'your computer registration has expired'.
They nearly got money out of our mum but the payment was stopped in time.
The call i made to them to tell them not so nicely never to call again clearly didn't work.
They have been reported to Consumer Affairs today.

Basically same comments as above. Told me my computer was on & that they could see technical issues. Computer had not been on since previous night - approx 18 hours. I told them I was busy & would get back to them. Was given this phone number (07) 3040 9898. In meantime I did a google search of phone number & business name & mainly came up with scam choices. I attempted to call back to see what would happen & call failed. How surprising!!

My mother has just fallen prey to these people. Thankfully she hasn't paid them anything. She told them that her son works in IT and their response was 'he doesn't know what he's talking about'. Will lock her machine down and disable all remote access features now!

Called saying problems with Windows and needed to be fixed urgently. After I said my IT son will call you back, she gave me this number! Not just a scam but stupid as well.

This number called my Grandma yesterday, saying the cliche "I'm from the Windows Security Centre" thing, etc. Said his name was supposedly "Peter Wilson". Kept calling my Grandma "grannie" and saying that she was just like his Grandma and that he was very happy to be speaking with her. She let him onto the system and then decided to give me a call, and explain what she had done... Safe to say that I am now locking down her PC so that this doesn't happen again.

Another Microsoft tech support scam. Male caller was fairly polite, except being slightly off with his phrasing (when I said I have to turn on my computer and let it warm up he said "you take your sweet time" instead of "take your time") and asking to call me "Grannie" as I'm the same age as "his Grannie". He identified as 'James Wilson' and stayed polite even when I asked if it was his real name. Ended the call by stating that I don't have the internet so couldn't do what he wanted.
