Just had a phone call from this number claiming I have compensation money owing to me lollllllllllllll. Wouldn't that be lovely if it was true?Same indian guy says his name is Abraham Shaw. Its a scam people

Called on a Saturday claiming to be from the RTA ( Road Transport Authority)Australia based in Charlotte St Brisbane. Definately Indian accent. Said someone in our house had an accident in the last 12 months and we were owed $1500 in compensation. When I asked where his office was he just kept repeating the Charlotte St address and postcode. When i asked him a question about Brisbane he became quite abusive and hung up.

I have had a few calls from this number (07) 3040 0418. The caller always has an Indian accent, and announces that he is calling on behalf of the Traffic Management Company. He falsely accuses me of having caused a collision, thereby damaging the other car. He offers to settle the matter involving the police, if I pay the requested amount. Surely, this type of scam must be a criminal offence.

Have called several times in relation to a car accident which I am supposed to have had in the last 18 months. I haven't had any accidents at all, and have had other relatives and friends tell me they have had similar scam calls. Didn't bother waiting to hear what the were after. Just hung up.
