Had a call from this number today stating after much coercion from me that his name was John Morrison (India accent) from Telstra Technical Department and that if I didn't go to my computer and do what they want I would be disconnected for 6 months and blacklisted for 6 months. He said that my computer was leaking my email into the web and that it was affecting the Telstra server. At first I thought straight up scam then I thought (given outsourcing of Telstra's Dept.) if it was legitimate I should find out more but he was so aggressive I knew better. Stated he was in Melbourne even though it was an (07) number. It does get very stressful for a few minutes and you doubt if authentic or real. I wish these a/holes could be stopped but so happy I could read the number on my l/land and plug it in here to see the sh....ts are scammers.

I got a call from this one today. No message, just a long silence while I kept saying "Hello!" and then a robotic female voice saying "Goodbye" in a really creepy way & then the call cut off.

Thankyou everyone on your reports on this number,
When I answer, I do with confidence and presence. I think that is why the phone hangs up.
Yes, I was hit with the Magnum PI when I returned the call.
Number now blocked in my phone. Never to hear from them again (Till they change phone number)

Yep, me also - but said they were from CBA, "Did you make a donation of $700 to a South African company?" "No". She (Jessica, Asian accent) said she would cancel details, block card for 72 hours, asked a loy of questions, but also knew about account. I became a little bit suspicious, so got her name and said I would ring Bank. Did so, spoke to their security - no-one from Bank had accessed my account and Bank would not block card for 72 hours, but would cancel card, which they have done, and issue new card with new number. Even though it takes an age to get through and the inconvenience of no card for a week, the advice to ring the bank if concerned is worth it.

the number is not a Telstra number but a number pool for VOIP providers, within seconds you could buy one of these number for as little as $2.50 with little or no identification. I would not trust anyone with a VOIP number unless you know who they are.

Just had a call from this number. Hubby said hello a couple of times and got an automated voice that just said "Goodbye" and then the call disconnected. When I rang the number back all I got was the theme music from Magnum PI

You would think tha Telstra would disconnect that number when they r claiming to be from Telstra and aren't -then I suppose the dollars they generate is more important than us customers who use our phone for genuine reasons so who is the biggest scammer

Had a call from (07) 3018 7514 asking if we have had down lights replaced. When I said that we had, he kept asking me to give him the date. In this case it appears they have latched onto a legitimate incentive as the basis for their scam. I appreciate being able to check with this site. Thanks for setting it up.
