The call was about her activating a $100 gift card for me to use that expires in 6 months, it was to help me during this time of COVID-19.

Not sure what the catch is as I declined.

It happens the same to me, looks like it transfers to other "on hold" system when I says "hello", and then hang up.

This number called me on 6 May 2020; when I answered they hung up. Two days later,
a very similar number 0488 852 092 rang me; when I answered a young woman's voice
spoke with Chinese accent something like "Huawei...". I was unable to understand her.
Then an older woman spoke in Chinese (not English Chinese) and went on and on.
As I was unable to understand her, I hung up.

Called me, hung up. Then when I called back said they had rung me for a promotional offer. Scam.

called me, answered the phone but no one was on the other line, and then hung up on me

This number called me and when I answered they hung up. Must be timid telemarketers. When I called the number I got a message that said "we called you with a very special promotional offer, we will call again at another time".

They said I won some competition...
