Caller: Automated message. Woman's voice said "Amazon Calling"

The message gave options Press 1 or Press 2 to talk to someone.
Didn't respond. NO reason for Amazon to be calling.
SCAM.

I called back the number 0488 859 609 but was routed automatically to an ivr

I did not recognise number so did not answer and they didn't leave a message, so assumed it’s not important. I checked here and found great information, thank you everybody and now I know who called me, and will now block

No answer and this is the third 0488 number to call me! Over these calls!

Caller: SCAMMER ALERT

JUST RECIEVED A CALL FROM 0488 859 609 AND SPOKE TO SOMEONE CALLED ALVIN WHO HAS A VERY STRONG ACCENT. HE CLAIMS HE WAS CALLING IN RELATION TO MY NBN CONNECTION AS SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY HAS BEEN DETECTED AND THAT HE NEEDS TO CONFIRM MY NAME, ADDRESS AND CREDIT CARD DETAILS. KNOWING FULL WELL THIS IS A SCAM I TOLD HIM THAT I DONT HAVE NBN HOOKED UP TO MY PROPERTY AND THAT AS A SCAMMER HE MUST HAVE A VERY LONELY EXISTANCE AND WITH THAT HE TERMINATED THE CALL.

My phone identified this number as spam and blocked it automatically. Came here to discover it's definitely spam.

They called but when I answered they just hung up.

They called me but hung up as soon as I answered. I tried to call back but it said the number was disconnected.

Called back to be told the number is not connected. They have phoned 3 times will block now thank you for the info

Scam calls continue. Apparently my Prime Account (which I don't have) would be renewed for $39.99 (not the AU price). I hung up.

Called twice, but could not connect. Clear sign of rerouting and thus scams.

This number used in a Tinder dating scam Nov 2022.

Caller: Claimed he was from Telstra

Stated my data was over limit due to hacker in USA. Said I'd need to pay to get more data. Told him to fix problem if he knew data not used by me. Hung up.
According to Telstra site, my data well within monthly allowance.

When I did that I got "the number you have called is not connected". Scams seem to be getting pretty sophisticated these days.

Two missed calls with no voicemail or message left. Attempted to return call, but was advised that the number was not connected.

Caller: Claimed to be NBNOc

Called to say that NBN landline and Internet would be disconnected. Hung up on them.

Automated caller stated that they were from NBN and my IP address was under cyber threat and gave options to talk to a technician, I hung up and checked on here

Notifying me that my Amazon Prime account is going to have an auto deduction of $39.99 per month.
Which is super considering I don't have an Amazon Prime account!! :) Haha!
Phone number has now been blocked.

my phone is now recognising some of these scam calls which is good, so have started blocking however they just keep popping up with different numbers! AAhhh
