I called back number 0488 828 500 it says the number I have dialed is not in service anymore. Caller: 0488 828 500
This is the second time this number has called. First was on Friday 12/7/19, and again today 15/7/19.
Unsure where the lady said she was from - Vellouise/Velouis/something similar??
She called saying I’d entered a competition on 28/12/18, but couldn’t tell me which specific company I’d done it through or what the competition was exactly, but that they work with companies like Woolies, Coles, Aldi.
I questioned I did not remember the comp... especially that it was in my maiden name (I’m married, so don’t really use that name anymore), and that she had my old email address (still valid but I rarely use it)
I played along, answered some questions but then asked if she could email me some further information and the remainder of the questions so I could discuss them with my husband before proceeding. She said she would. 3 hours later I don’t have an email.
She tried telling me she understood my hesitance with regards to scams and insisted that I could look up their website - I reminded her that anyone can ring up claiming to be from a company, but that doesn’t mean they are.
She advised they are a financial institution that focuses on investment, and that they could organise an in home presentation with one of their reps to provide us with a “financial fitness” thing, which aims to give tips etc as to how to pay off your loan quicker.... and I too would receive a ‘Google Home Mini’ to keep 🤷♀️
All sounded ok, however I’m leaning toward scam because it just doesn’t add up.... be careful out there people.
Caller: I don’t know
They’ve called me 4 times in the last week.
I've had several calls from this number since last week 3 today, but because my oh says it's span it goes straight to message bank. They know my first name as they keep saying it & each time a different persons voice. 1st was Indian or similar, then next was a male sounded Aussie then a female also sounded Aussie. Caller: Bellous or Vellous
Caller knew my name and claimed I had won an Apple device from a survey I had completed at 'Coles or Woolworths'. Initially they said it could have been from up to 18 months ago, but then said 2nd April. I don't do surveys and was not in the country on 2nd April. This sounds like a scam.
They’ve called twice but weird because phone didn’t ring.. it went straight to my voice mail where they are heard saying my name... their accent sounds like they’re from the Phillipines.
I have an unusual name so I was curious. I called back but it does not ring.. only a message telling me to try again later... their number doesn’t come up on my missed call list either! Perhaps because I’ve blocked them before? Not sure.. either way, sounds to weird to be anything legit!! Be careful peeps!!
Asked if I my name and then when I asked who it was they hung up I blocked this number but somehow calls keep coming through. Part of an ongoing scam over numerous numbers and texts claiming to be looking for someone called 'Peter Boyle'. Caller: Bell Lewis??
Someone called claiming to be from Bell Lewis saying I did a survey or entered a competition on 29th Dec and that now I was eligible to win a google home thing.
When I questioned having not done a survey, they got defensive and tried to define what a scam was before hanging up on me.
