Caller: CBA Received a text message from CBA stating they had sent an email that needed to be actioned. Logged on to my Netbank account and had a similar message with a contact phone number and further information that my account would be possibly locked. The email had some information and a KYC code (KYC = know your customer). Rang the number and was requested to go to a CBA Branch to provide some photo ID. The KYC is a requirement for financial institutions. If in any doubt contact your bank directly.

This is NOT a CBA message. This is a scam. Had some detail theft on my card a few days ago and locked my card, looked here and saw that some people are saying it’s CommBank and some aren’t, so I kept the card locked. I got a new card sent today and disabled my old one, they sent me the same message again. If you unlock they will most likely bill you, if you gave them card details. Very fishy and I would say this seems 100% like a scam unless CommBank expressly tells me it’s not. Only respond to texts from NetBank or CommBank the self. They don’t use mobile numbers. Verdict: SCAM

Caller: 0488 728 596 100% a scam. I've had to cancel my card because somebody was trying to use it. Luckily I realized what was going on. Now I've cancelled the card this number has contacted me for a second time reminding me my card is still locked.

Caller: CBA 100% thought this was a scam. But it’s not. I’ve checked with CBA who I bank with and it’s legitimate.

Caller: they left text to another number CBA only texts me through their official contact 'CBA' - Just because they text you regarding something that is relevant to you DOESNT MEAN it's LEGIT it simply means they've already hacked you and can see basic level stuff and want to hack you further. Caller: Commonwealth Bank Was a legit text I received from Commonwealth Bank. I haven't banked with them since 2011 but they still had my contact details/data. Someone had changed the phone number associated with my name/DOB etc and opened an account in my name. Worth following up with Commbank on their direct line, 13 22 21, if you're concerned. It's a pain but better than having debt in your name.
