I got a Whatsapp message saying "Hi Mum it's me. This is my new number, my phone just broke. So you can delete that number and save this one."
I have more than one child able to say "Hi mum it's me.", so I blocked it and reported it to Whatsapp.

Caller: 0485 825 848 My mum received a message from this number on WhatsApp, pretending that they were me, saying I had a different number ‘because I’d dropped my phone in the sink and had to get a new one’ they kept calling her Mom and that they had bought a MacBook on afterpay and needed $4480.11 and would pay her back in the morning. They were very persistent (12 screenshots worth) but my mum realised it was a scam.
