Have had this 0478 860 888 number call me when I ask who it is they hang up also been called from at least two other numbers and the same thing no talking they just hang up

Sounds like a scam. Got called, and was asked for details for verification. I said, you called--you tell me and I will verify. Also told him that I was recording the conversation. He quickly told me that he did not authorise it. I said "Too bad, I am" He said that he would have to hang up and did.
If everything is above board and legit, why would D&B be worried about someone recording the conversation? Is the recording supposed to be only one way?
Definitely smells fishy.

Had a similar call. Guy requested that i confirm my details. Told him that he should not have any of my details on his file, and that was a violation of my privacy. Further told him that I was recording the call. He practically screamed at me saying that he was not authorising any recording and was going to hang up. Told him to go ahead, as I've recorded that I've returned D&B call. So, tomorrow they cannot claim that I had not responded--that is if their request is genuine--which I am sure is not as I have no outstanding debts.

Just got a call from this number. If it is D&B, wouldn't it be more effective actually TALKING to the person you call, rather than hanging up? No way I'm wasting my money calling them back and I certainly won't be giving anyone my personal details over the phone!! I've added this number and every other number people have listed here on my blocked list.

Same as the others, I have received my first call from them, demanding in broken English for me to provide my details to them and when I respectfully declined they refused to tell me what it is about! I find it very interesting as I owe nothing to anyone!

Same story here. Add 0478 860 777 to the list. Same thing. They call, you answer, they hang up. I have no idea why they would be calling. I won't be "confirming" any personal details and will be adding numbers to my blocked list.

Some advice, say it is a police number and if they keep calling a search warrant will be served on the business and hang up. it usually stops them from calling.

This D&B number keeps calling me during school times, is their anyway i can stop them from calling?!?

this is ridiculous, it is D&B i can confirm. Pretty annoying that they call, hang up and when you spend the time (and money) to return the call they then want you to confirm your identity without divulging what it is in regards to and freak you out by repeating over and over that it is very serious !! Yikes... not to mention the rather polite person that took my call was having a lot of trouble understanding my Australian accent. Not sure why they are unable to discuss the matter provided they are the ones with my details not the other way around. This stinks, D&B should be reported to ACCC.

20 plus calls a day, when i answer no one picks up, when i call back im put on hold so annoying

Two missed calls from this number and a text from 0416 907 428 addressed to someone else all from Dun and Bradstreet

also 0478 860 666 and (08) 7999 7441 all D&B will not leave message bar 1 time, call 4x daily on the 3 numbers noted and leave no messages, call back on same number and it hangs up on me. I should not have to verify my details to them, they should tell me the info to verify themselves, if you do get through it will tell you to hold for an operator, if you pick up when they call they will often hang up.. all these numbers and all private numbers are auto rejected on my phone now.

These people ring constantly and there first question is for you to give them your details. If your are chasing me for anything you should have my details. I shouldn't have to prove who I am. You called me. I have caller ID on both phones so ring to your hearts content arseholes. Not answering EVER!!!!

I also have been harassed my these scum for about a month. Call wanting me to give them my personal details before they will tell me what it is about. There is no way I will give out my details on the phone especially when the operator has a foreign accent. When confronted admitted it was their dial up service calling my number and they were in Auckland NZ. They refuse to remove my number and have said they will just keep ringing until I give them my details. If this is really Dun And Bradstreet you are vermin and need to reasses how you do business. I have reported them to Scamwatch. They have no reason to keep ringing me.

I was busy when the 1st call come through - they rang again 3 times straight after even though they left a message the 1st time.
Did not tell me who they were, but that I had to urgently contact them with a reference number.
As the call was at the usual spam call hour I google the number left - saw complaints against it, so ignored it.
The following day they rang again, this time I found out who was calling "Dun & Bradstreet"
Claimed that I had a bad credit rating put against me recently (nothing in my name so I knew immediately it was a hoax), then wanted me to id myself. I said no thanks and hung up.
I now seem to be getting a call from them once a week.

I also got a call and when I called them back they have no details as to what the debt is about, not sure how can I take action against them... too frustrated

I would rather refer to those parasites as "Dung and Bad seeds",I thinks a class action against them for there intimidation and harassment is the most appropriate way to fix this scum.
