I had the same, sent it to my agent and I checked the number here so I gave it a bash myself. I called him to find out what the go was, left a message, told him I was the owner and he called me back. He's not an agent, he said he's looking for cheaper houses where the contract with the agent has ended. He gets it cheaper without an agent payment included the price. It was a reasonable answer. I asked why he didn't call my agent back. Told me no use him calling back if the agent calls.....there's the answer.

I've decided to keep the property and rent it out until the market moves better.

This person also put a letter in my mail box saying he is interested in buying my house. He says his name is Steve and his number is 0477 818 068.
He knows that we are with another agent because we have a for sale board and its on the internet. Why is this person soliciting properties when we are obviously with another agent.

Similar to the same message - we live in geelong and had the same experience... I think its one of the franchised estate agencies trying to get lead illegally.

Thank you so called Steven U we are happy with our agent and if your intentions were sincere you would have replied to one of the 5 text messages sent or calls we and our agent have made to you...

Dishonest.... We will be following up with this and posting the details of who owns this number also !

This person placed a letter in our letter box when we listed our home for sale. We passed the letter to our agent - our agent called this person every day for a week and left messages as well as sending text messages.

The person never answered or replied - we feel that this persons intentions are not honest and we have forwarded our concerns to police.

Do not trust this person.
