I filled in a competition email purporting to be from Virgin, but actually coming from an email address usuarios @ news.dailygaga.net -- It asked for a lot of personal information including whether I was a home owner or renter, and whether I wanted a new dishwasher... As a result of this survey, I got a call from a mobile number 0459 762 796 from an Australian lady saying she was from a financial services company. When I contacted the company directly they are appalled and have nothing to do with this scam. (I told her the email had been illegal and she should quit her job and not work for people like that). Then I got a call from this (02) 6100 5353 and a recorded message said to opt out of calls I had to call (03) 9999 0056 - I called it from a landline and there was a message saying the inbox is full, try again later. I have reported all of this to the ACCC at https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam and encourage everyone else to do the same. This company is pretending to be from financial services and is probably taking innocent people's money (as well as dragging the reputation of other companies like Virgin and the financial services businesses through the mud).
