I received a message saying "Hello, over the next few days, you will notice a refund(s) in your bank account from Cash Converters - you will be sent more information about this via email and SMS shortly. Thanks, Cash Converters.
Please do not reply to this SMS as it is not monitored." I have nothing to do with cash converters.

Told them I will be forwarding their number to the police. Scam! telling me it's a debt collector... pity I don't owe money.

Called me as "recovery corp". Knew my name, wanted personal details. Very creepy.

I applied to rent a house through a Real Estate Agent in SA and received the outcome through a text message from this number. So, considering all the different feedback everyone has left, I'd say there's a service provider that allows people to use their generic mobile service for anonymity and this is the number it generates.

Received 2 text messages from same number. A month ago, text re debt recovery to call 1300 number that also comes up as scam in Google. Today, text re job I'd applied for via SEEK, supposedly from recruitment agency but now I think it's another scam. Actual agency is legit, but they would have called or at least used my name, not just say "hey there".
