Text message rrquesting NBN feedback on the promise of potentially recieving a prize (link in msg). No company name in text either. Never had nbn, so I'm extremely sceptical. Rating as scam/fishing. Click link at your own risk.

No, its a SCAM. I got the message and haven't had a technician experience since NBN was fitted 2 years ago.

If these irritating sh*t-encrusted d*ck helmets don't stop calling and messaging me i'm going to use my huge amount of free time (i have no life and lead a sad existence) to find out via XCM leads who they are and take them out.

I believe this is a legitimate message from nbn. Received this message 2 days after my nbn was installed: "nbn requests feedback on your recent nbn technician experience. Pls complete this 1 min survey here https://nxt.to/*******."

Upon clicking the shortened link it took me to a personalised page on https://yourexperience.nbnco.com.au/ where my address was displayed with 4 very short questions about my recent nbn experience.

To future posters: probably best not to post your personalised link as it shows your address, lol...

We had tech out via Telstra. Got satisfaction survey from Telstra on completion of job done by NBN co. It was legit. Job 17 Oct. NBN $500 eGift survey 22 Oct and 24 Oct. Live link on text message. Keyed https://survey.nbn.com.au/3jhLWbQ without underscore on computer, examined code and found parts of page not not displaying on interrogation. In short, page redirects. The phone no 0457 062 626 is made up from spoof numbers commencing 0457 captured from BT UK. This has been used for at least 4 years although most seem to think it is spoofed from Telstra. What is of greater concern is how these scammers get the info from fault reports in the first place and why the telcos seem so unwilling to block these bastards. If it feels wrong it is wrong. Do not use live links via sms. Key link into Google it will save a lot of pain.

Just because it doesn't ask for a login or password doesn't mean it's not a scam. It asks you to complete a survey or to opt out by replying STOP to a specific mobile number. Either way, if you do either of these things, they will have verified your mobile number which, as others have pointed out, they can on-sell to other scammers or advertisers or use for future scam calls and messaging themselves. I have had NBN for 6 years, there are no problems in my area and there is no reason at all why they would suddenly start asking for feedback after all this time. At the moment I still get the annoying robo-calls on my landline from the steely-voiced "Nicole" threatening immediate disconnection and more recently from young Asian-accented person claiming to be my internet provider informing me of various problems that I don't actually have - these calls are also on my landline. Pretty sure if I took either of the response options offered in this fake SMS message I'd be getting a whole lot of spam rexts and calls on my mobile too. At the moment I only get about one such messag per year!!

I regularly get this text saying to click on link or reply with STOP, not doing either as we don't have nbn. Telstra even gave us a credit as we were paying them for nbn but not getting the service in our area. This is a SCAM and if you click on link or reply they have your phone as active number and will onsell to other scammers. Even those that click and say it's legit anyone can make the link LOOK legit - doesn't mean it is. Why would NBN send a text when NBN is all about Internet & emails?????? IT'S A SCAM.

I looked up the website and it took me to a survey page asking to answer a few questions. The first question they wanted to know if they had my correct address. I got to thinking why wouldn't NBN know my current address. It was showing my previous address, but I didn't have the NBN on then. So alarm bells rang! Please don't be fooled, be constantly vigilant against these SCAMMERS!

Despite what people are saying here, it's a legitimate text from NBNco. Easiest proof being go to the url in the message, it links straight up with NBNco's website, HTTPS and all.

Received request from NBN a couple of days after a service call. Included a link to survey.nbn.com.au/(specific #) - didn't respond and received another text with difference survey number and this time included a possible $50 winning voucher - both gave option to send a 'stop' to 0457 062 626. NBN don't deal with retail customers, only with your provider. Beware the scammers - don't click on links!

Similar scam message as previous complaints. This seems to have been going on for many years. Text says
“nbn would like feedback on your recent fix experience. You could win a $500 eGift voucher. https://survey.nbn.com.au/OiIJcQE To opt out txt STOP to 0457 062 626”.
These repeated dodgy texts are very annoying!

Scam message from scammers calling themselves NBN

No such survey exists from NBN and they wouldn't send a survey anyway.

Same as the others. Same texts for a survey.
I'd also started to receive calls on my landline from Rajeesh from NBN. (NOT nbn co.) After I had lodged a fault with Telstra. I had already received confirmation texts from Telstra though. Which is how it should be.
Rajeesh however was quite good. Even got frustrated in the end because I wanted him to confirm who he was. He kept saying I needed to confirm my address first. I said you have it right in front of you. He ended up saying he just had my first name and post code. Poor Rajeesh sounded frustrated. After a time of to and fro, he said he will cancel my appointment and he could not continue with our call.
The actual Technician rang before my appointment time and said he was out in my pit and had fixed the issue. And lo and be hold! He actually was.
He also said that if you suspect even 1% that it's a scam, then it is.
So Rajeesh from 'nbn' number is (02) 9392 6000
Beware of that number too.
