hey so sorry this happened - the person who is using my ID is James Zombolas - trying to collect any information - could you post the bank account details and the name of the police offer you spoke to?

Tried to scam me. Caught him out. Gave fake name "Angie Lena Segal" and had passport and NSW drivers license to match fake ID. Tried to scam via gumtree

I just lost $140 today. Posted I wanted concert tickets through Gumtree. Angie Segal. Offered to show passport and drivers licence. Paid money online into NAB bank account previously mentioned. Rang bank and was told it was a police matter. Rang police and was told it is the bank's responsibility to retrieve funds. So it looks like this scam will continue at this rate. Kicking myself because I'm usually so careful.

This guy contacted me after I put a wanted post on gumtree offering me 3 tickets for $ 250.00 to a concert...Sounded suss cause he/she was willing to send license and passport through (who does that!!).Lucky I googled and found this! Used the name Angie Segal

Heh guys - I'm the real Angie segal - this guy has gotten hold of my ids and is using my name! Have spoken to the police in nsw but spread the word that it is not actually me ! And any information would be helpful so we can catch this guy

Scammed me of $200 for Dylan tickets at the Tivoli following my ad on Gumtree. Went by the name of Angie Segal (I see others have reported the same) St Ives NSW. SMSd Angies passport and licence (as ACCC Scamwatch advised me - that's 100 points worth to establish bank accounts etc). Sent funds to 'her' account BSB 083210 acc 142442015 Found the real Angie Segal via some research and gave her a call on her real phone number. She has had a lot of grief and has reported her identity theft to NSW police. She passed on all details I could to police. Apparently the scammer is operating out of Victoria. Reported it to ScamWatch (ACCC) and local Qld police (couldn't deal with it).

To make matters worse I had a similar response from a Kane Kearns (Byron Bay). I passed his details to a friend who was after same tickets and she was scammed $450. I have reported this elsewhere here but for the record - Kane Kearns BSB 083894 acc 837774489 NAB phone 0413 821 865. He has a long record here.

Rang people on Gumtree with similar ads and warned them. Seems Kane has been very active. Any advice for reporting these guys to authorities. Banks no help,

the bloke replied to a wanted ad of mine on gumtree for dandy warhols concert tickets stating he had 4 for $300.

i asked whether he could meet in order to pick up the tickets, from which his response was around having etickets and wanting to email them through, while strongly insisting to send his passport and driver license...

i mentioned i'd prefer him to email the receipt with his name attached that he would have received around the purchase along with the both drivers & passport ID's... he said he would work on getting this info together, and then asked what bank i banked with... this is when the alarm bells went off as i could not think of one legitimate reason as to why he'd want to know which bank i banked with.

i responded stating i'd rather speak to him to talk the purchase through... at this stage i had lost confidence in his sale being legit... i've not heard back from him for 3hrs now...

i've since sent another message asking him for the best time to call, trying to call his bluff... then i stumbled across this forum.

i'm now likely to offer him $500 rather than $300 to try and get a response back from him... i just want to play around a little... i'll probably take a photo of the google link detailing he's a thief and send it to him warning him there is someone out there with exactly the same number as his who is a thieving bugger and likely to ruin business for him.

time to send a warning to the other guys on gumtree first though...

I was contacted by this person today - I was trying to get tickets to the Lion King - the person didn't want to meet me to hand over the tickets and wanted me to deposit money into a National Bank account. I decided not to go ahead and now found this. I had asked for tickets on sale on Gumtree

He got me yesterday claiming to be Angie Segal. $450. He got me to send the money via a ANZ goMoney transaction with a different phone number though 0415 172 838). Called this number and a girl replies saying her name is Mishka and doesn't know anything about it. I have reported it to Gumtree and the Police.

Known scammer. There is a Facebook page setup as this guy has scammed close to 100 ppl

Just had a text from this number offering 2 tix for a concert in Perth

scammed me for tickets and is going by the name Angie Segal and providing her IDs, going to call the police to see what they can do

Yep got me too $120 - goes by the name peter casper - provides a copy of a Vic licence also - bottom feeder .

A guy on this number sold me concert tickets but never cam through with the goods and won't refund my $240.. i have his bank details though...
