Same deal, sent license pictures.
What a disgusting excuse for a human being, it was $450 for Falls Festival tickets, any luck with contacting the police or bank?

hi everyone, my sister and I were scammed last night by a supposed Angie Segal. IF anyones looking to buy things online don't search the name always search the email! Ive gone into the biggest depression and feel so hurt that my poor sister saved up all her money to buy tickets for her boyfriends birthday.
this is his/hers number; 0497 820 092
I have been to both police and the bank. and if there is anything else I could do to get our money back that anyone knows off, please let me know ! I really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. be careful guys!

Hi, i've just filed a fraud report form with the police attaching all documents including multiple supporting evidence of all comments and information from online sources such as facebook, this site etc. I'm shocked and dissapointed to see i've fallen victim of this when i'm so cautious, clearly goes to show how easy this can happen. If only i searched the email instead of her name...for some reason i searched her name prior to paying and i couldnt find anything....as soon as i put the email in...i was like...WOAH! IDIOT!

Although i may not get my money back i'm grateful that i've had the opportunity to report this and that the police will continue to investigate and try closing this case off and hopefully clear the real Angie Segal so she can live a life without her identity stolen...how inconvenient!!! (providing it really isn't Angie behind this all...haha)

Such is life....no point stressing about it i guess.

best wishes!

Hey guys, just a piece of helpful info (I hope).
It's probably best never to send money via bank transfer or cash deposit to people you don't know, as the chances of getting the money back (if it is a scam) are slim to none. Even Gumtree themselves advise of meeting in person.
The Police cannot assist as it is a civil matter not a criminal one - since the money wasn't stolen, it was willingly transferred.
A good thing I learnt, as you probably have too, is to always do a quick google search of names or numbers to find things like this. It's also good to add the word 'scam' to the end of the search & anything related will pop up.
Remember - if things seem too good to be true, they most probably are!

see my previous post Eliza. I have been told that the police need to issue a warrant to get details of person who is running the bank account. The bank account is not in the name of Angie Segal. Unless the bank gets a warrant they can't do anything. My local police just keep ignoring me.

Hi Angie. I paid money into the NAB 083210 142442015 supposedly in the name of Angie Segal. NAB have been great. They have informed me the account wasn't in that name and had been closed. They also advised me to get my local police to issue a warrant and they would be able to provide them with the person's name and address. Unfortunately it is impossible to get my local police to do anything despite attending the police station or phoning them nearly daily. They just keep fobbing me off. Maybe someone else could follow up with their police on this please
