Caller saying from Foxtel asking for DOB and full name. Had my 1st name. Said why are you calling me from a mobile number and that's weird. Suddenly said apologies can see you have spoken to us a few weeks ago and all is resolved. Haven't spoken to anyone. They hung up. Block don't take these calls. Scammers.

For goodness sake people, it most definitely IS FOXTEL. I work in finance collections and when we have overdue accounts that wont answer silent numbers, we use mobile numbers to try and get our customers to answer in order to collect money owed. All these people saying "they tried to ID me, must be a scam" need to settle down. And anyone who says they don't have Foxtel are either A) lying or B) Foxtel's customer has given them a false mobile number in order to avoid them.

I got this call, I answered, and then I simply told them I'd call Foxtel back on a number I'm more confident of. And what do you know, I'd missed a payment and they confirmed it was them trying to call me on this mobile number. They would have overseas call centres managing their arrears/collections.

Ya'll need to calm the hell down, not every call you don't recognise is a scam Karen.

Caller: I don't know - was at school (Adult School) at the time - scammers seem to be on the loose at the moment

Looking through alot of these responses, I noticed one that said it IS Foxtel.....scammer checking out this site?

Asking for personal details saying that I had a couple of boxes in my home. When I reversed the conversation &:told him I'm not revealing anything until you tell me what you want from me?! As he's the one ringing me He! He hung up!

Just got a call from this mobile.
He used my first name and said he was FOXTEL.
They said the "This conversation is being recorded for coaching and quality service" thing that foxtel usually say.. said he was from Foxtel and that I need to confirm my first and last name. I said why are you ringing from a mobile number.. I'm not confirming my name to you.. He told me to google the mobile number and it will come up as a FOXTEL number..

Caller: Australian Tax Office

Scam! This was a robotic Australian accented voice claiming my TFN had been suspended and that I’ll be arrested over my tax return. I’m not that gullible as that’s not something the ATO can do. Did not push any numbers as requested - hung up.

Claimed to be from foxtel but was really

Caller said that they were from Foxtel and was chasing an overdue account when the account was already paid. He had a heavy accent and wanted my name and DOB address etc for confirmation that they were speaking to the correct person. I said you called me so you should have all those details. He said go to your television and I will send a code through your screen so I hung up. Before hanging up I also questioned why they were calling from a mobile number as I think that this is most unusual.

Has happened to me twice this week - blocked now - saying

Male with heavy overseas accent rang at midday wanting to take a payment from me on an overdue Foxtel account.
Very pushy, kept talking over top of me, very insistent on taking payment, I hung up on him. Then same number 0438 832 846 rang back 3 x hours later, I did not answer call and have instantly blocked this number from my phone.

Male, said he was calling from foxtel. Told him we dont have foxtel, and he hung up.
Suspicious to be calling from a mobile, and also reception was very poor

Caller: A man & woman (a day apart) alleging from Foxtel (asking for someone not at this no. pushy rude woman)

Phone call from man, then next day from a woman (Aussie Accent) 0438 832 846 - clearly deranged, pushy & rude. Time wasters.. Demanding to speak to someone who doesn't exist at our mobile no. Clearly they should find a real job instead of harrassing people saying they are allegedly from Foxtel. Blocked their 0438 832 846 mob no. Reported them to Foxtel, ACCC - Scam Watch & Do Not Call Register.

Called asking for my husband, I said they had the wrong number so they hung up straight away. No identification or anything

Caller said she was from Foxtel. Pushy, wanted to ID me immediately, very rude, when l questioned her why she wanted ID when she called me, she hung up immediately
if it is Foxtel, they really need to work on their cold callers, aggressive, impolite, will not answer this number ever again. a bad experiece all round.
