Called asking if I was the owner of a business, I said no and he hung up abruptly before I could ask any more questions

He send a text message saying you missed a call, but if you check your missed calls he never made the call. His mailbox is full. Scammer.

Had a call on our business line saying his name was John Taylor and was from the Australian Institute of Police asking to speak to the owner of the business. Fobbed him off as I knew if the police were actually calling they would have called my personal number which is linked to the business

A person says they are from iSelect and they are asking me for a health insurance. I tell them with a fake acsent to stop

Missed a call from this number.
Tried calling back, but as mentioned already, it goes straight to voicemail where you hear a standard message before it tells you the inbox is full and won't accept anymore messages.

After having some Indians claiming to be from Telstra trying to scam me in the last couple of days with the Anydesk scam (just search 'Telstra Anydesk'), I'm not amused.
Hopefully this a***hole tries calling again so I can abuse him.

As per other comments called me saying he is John Taylor from the police and knew my business name. Very odd.

Female caller, did sales spiel for a Women Police magazine? I asked her to email something through, she kept trying to sell. I said I thought she was a scammer and she hung up. Sounds legit though, be careful

Got a call from this number on Grand final day saying from police department, asking if I am a business owner, I said yes but why?! He then mumbling and I asked what is the purpose of this call and he said nothing then hang up?????

I quizzed him about the police association, and where could i get some further details.....and he was very rude and hung up.
(i would happily give to an association that helps police members, but not a rude scamer from a mobile phone number).

Guy called saying he was from Neighbourhood Watch and wanted to know if I was a business before trying to get me to sign up for either a bronze, silver or gold sponsorship of Neighbourhood Watch. Looking at other comments he is obviously a scammer!

Caller: Didn't catch him name - sounded like an older man

Called indicating he was after my business for an ad in Countrywide Austral (https://www.cwaustral.com.au/) which is published to all police departments in local area. Indicated it wasn't a scam it was all legit. After looking at this website with the number he called on I couldn't ensure it was real or not but wasn't pushy and was happy with my no thanks response. I was interested though as to how he found my social media page given I coach kids in cycling as a hobby and wanted to advertise it??

He’s a very naughty boy.
Once you ask if he’s aware that he’s a verified scammer, he scurries away.
Probably garnering easy phone numbers from a 3rd party meta data supplier.
Optus know about it and actively don’t care

Says that he was calling about Neighbourhood watch and the Police - they were setting up something in schools, when I said that I'd call back, he said that he had a number of phone numbers and was busy, that he'd call me back. I won't take it now.

Asked if I was the owner of the business, I asked who he was and he said his name was Damien....I couldnt hear him as bad reception and then he abruptly told me don't worry about it and hung up. Called back and goes straight to voice mail.

He called and stated that he is from the Australian Institute of Police. I called the Institute of Police afterwards and they confirmed it's a scam.

Had a conversation with a guy who called himself John Taylor, called from mobile numbers staring with 0435 152 ending in 513/503/529/471 and also 0435 169 968 told me he was from Australian Institute of Police and wanted to sell me a spot in their upcoming journal. He didn't like it when i started asking questions and was very arrogant and rude on the phone esp when i questioned his terrible sales pitch and lack of information he could provide and he wouldn't put anything in an email or writing to me. I got calls consistently over 3-4 days, finally got annoyed enough to tell him i knew he was a scammer and to p-off and he responded accordingly :) LOL..
