Caller: Male with Indian accent He said he was from "accident compensation" and that I had been in an accident recently. I asked for further details - date of accident, what car ? He couldn't answer these questions, just repeated his opening line again. Obviously a scam call, because I've never been involved in an accident !

Caller: my Optus number was hacked by this scamming orgainisation My phone started rang none stop and received like literarily more than 300 calls from real people asking me if I rang them about the car accident. and at the same time receiving messages/voicemails from the real people asking me the same question.
I picked up as many as I could and explain to them I did not make the call some freaking scammer took my number and made these calls.
my phone was ringing like every second I could not even make the call to Optus to ask them to stop this and get my number sorted and fix it. This number was used for 9 years, and i told them you need to fix this for me as i dont wanna change my phone number.
I rang the police to report this, they said no problem we have a record here that you have reported the incident, please contact ur phone provider to resolve the issue.
rang Optus, Sadly Optus said we cant help you all be can do is stop the service and change ur phone number.
I have never had this issue before when i was with Vodafone for Nine years, this year i changed to Optus and not this.
Not only this company is not secured, and when your number is hacked they absolutely can do nothing for you.
I guess this is how the scammers get real people's number.
DISAPOINTED with OPTUS, and really doub how they secure ur personal details

Caller: lady with chinese accent asked for name and address to confirm insurance details. She did have limited information about RACQ details which means they had an access to RACQ data base. This is a serious crime ... they wanted details for accessing bank accounts. DO NOT answer their questions with YES at any stage!
