Had a go at scamming me twice through a gumtree wanted ad.
First time sent me pics from google images which I caught on too. I kept his number and he's tried again twelve months later on another wanted ad.
Not the sharpest tool in the shed, once confronted backs down and shuts up pretty quick.

posted I was after a computer part on Gumtree. He told me he had it but sent through photos of a us ebay listing. Also said he didn't have PayPal. I called him out on it and he got aggressive then I told him about this page and that it was only a matter of time and he stopped messaging. Karma is a b?tc+

This number has also contacted me about a wanted ad I have on Gumtree. Much the same as the above MO, sent me a picture of a bike where he has blown the motor and is parting it out. As soon as I ask some small qualifying questions he backpedals. States he lives in NT and is in the Army, on base. Gave the suburb as Berrimah. I called his bluff and said my sister lives there and can meet up with him to see the parts and pay cash. What do you know, now it's all too hard for him... Total scammer.

This guy is still active. Tried to scam me today from a wanted Gumtree Ad. He's a total novice and I caught him out. Some tips for everyone to avoid being scammed.

1. Ask for images and image search these on Google. A lot of the time these scammers will just lift images off the net.
2. Google their mobile number - you never know what you'll find.
3. If it sounds too good to be true (low price etc) then it probably is.
4. Check how long they have been a member of a particular site. Anything new is a red flag.



5. Never pay with bank details. In person is always the best. If you have to then use something like Paypal.
6. Don't give out personal information.
7. Research the buyer/seller

I have not been involved, but after reading these messages, I Googled the name "Daniel Falzon." He is a professional motor cycle racer. It would seem that your fraudster by the same name has also indulged in a little bit of identity theft. But you motor enthusiasts knew that anyway.

Like many others I posted a wanted add on Gumtree, Daniel responded via text with the part I wanted and a picture. I offered to pay via paypal but he said he doesn't have it, so I paid via bank deposit. 2 and half weeks went by without the item arriving. He offered to refund money but has not arrived in my bank account after 3 days. I have made a complaint to gumtree and my bank account and logged a complaint with Australian Cyber Crime.

Guys if you’ve been scammed by him you’ve also been getting the wrong details about where he lives my friend used to be best friends with him and he doesn’t live in hoppers he lives at 14 Packer Way williams landing.

He tried to do the same with me. Answered a Wanted Ad for seats for a car. He balked when I asked for a copy of his drivers licence. Said I was not sending money to someone with no identification.

Posted a want ad on Gumtree chasing Landcruiser parts. said he had what I wanted and sent a pic of a very good looking cruiser. wondered why he was wrecking (selling for parts) and he said he blew the head gasket (still not a reason you would wreck a tidy car). asked about a few other otems on the car and wheere he was located. Told me he was in Berrimah, NT. Figured it would be too expensive to send all of the parts I wanted, but he told me he has a brother that works for Toll, so he can get shipping for $80. I quickly agreed to the $850 he asked for all the parts, and asked to pay through PayPal. He told me he doesn't have PayPal. That is when alarm bells started ringing, so I googled the number, which led me to this page.
Sorry to all of the people he has scammed before, but this page just saved me $850, which I really couldn't afford to lose, right now.

Please join STOP THE SCAMS on facebook. Ive created the page in a hope that anyone scammed can give the details and maybe we can build some sort of case. I nearly got scammed 250 tonight.

Scammer. I posted a wanted ad on Gumtree for a Spoiler. He texts me saying he has the spoiler and can ship it to me for a suspiciously low price.
I then asks for pics. Scammer then proceeds to send me a picture that he got off Google....

Hey - I'm another trusting bunny that's been scammed by this guy. I put a wanted ad on gumtree and sent him $200 for motorcycle parts that never eventuated. Did a search tonight to find this trail of fraud..... unreal. I'll contact VicPol and make a report.
