A dud number..... This Mobile Service is currently suspended for MMS. Please contact your service provider.
Each time I send an MMS, this automatically always comes up from the number with added '+61' for Australia's code. It's only happened 2day on the 12/12/2022.

RECOMMENDATION: Telstra needs to provide the Caller's telephone number - to us as individual paying Telstra clients/account holders - so we can be aware of who has tried to reach us and / or send us an image message. And so then we can contact that sender. Not some generic 'Telstra Echo' non-identifying message that one cannot act further on.
Recommend one lobby's Telstra to provide this service.

hello
this number is the telstra "echo" service. if you send a message back to the number it says "this is the telstra echo service"
you usually get a message from this number when someone (not this number) has tried to send you a picture message and it has failed for some reason.

A call saying that i had run out of credit and an mms couldn't be sent. I'm not with telstra so what is happening???? Something has to be done about these damn nuisances. Very scarey that they can intercept photos/messages on private numbers.

Just received an unsolicited text message from 0428 255 768: "Hi, your MMS message could not be delivered to one or more recipients because you have run out of credit." I have no record of any previous contact with this number and have been happily exchanging MMS messages with the USA this afternoon. Presumably I am supposed to hand over my credit card details to some scammer, but I don't think they've thought through that far yet?

I got this message after sending a MMS: "Hi, your MMS message could not be delivered to one or more recipients because you have run out of credit"
Confirmed with Telstra this is a scam.
Their advice is to block the number and report the incident.
I'd like to know is this seriously a coincidence that I got this right after sending an MMS. Otherwise how did they know!

it has been suggested the scammer must be ex-Telstra employee as the perperator certainly knows how the system works

Caller: A Telstra number, 0428 255 768 I got the exact same text about running out of credit in August 2024 - 5 months after the person above logged the issue with Telstra. Clearly the number 0428 255 768 is still in operation on the Telstra network, despite being a known spam sender.
Telstra told me today “Thanks for the details. We haven't sent you any messages. It's scam message. Please don't respond to it. You can use the below link to report it: https://www.telstra.com.au/forms/report-misuse-of-service We have a dedicated team. They'll check and remove the sender from network.” The spam-fighters at. Telstra don’t seem to be able to stop the spam-senders on Telstra :-(

SCAM message about being out of credit and SMS could not be sent. I'm on an unlimited plan. Question is - how do they know I sent an SMS? Has my mobile phone been hacked or my service provider? I scanned my mobile and it has come back all clear. Time to get in touch with my service provider.
