Caller: Claims Uber Responding to the text message can allow malware to be installed that will silently collect personal information from your phone. Imagine what an identity thief could do with the information from an online banking or credit card management app. If they don’t use your information themselves, the spammers may sell it to marketers or other identity thieves.

I have had the same problem, also have received fraudulent charges on my credit card from Uber. Check your credit card statements.

Same as everyone else - suggests its an Uber code and asks me to reply 'stop' to opt out. Uber would not send a msg like this so very suspicious. best ignore or block.

Caller: 0418 346 984 Just like everyone else, uber codes every day driving me crazy for the last month. Am thinking of blocking but don't understand the scam and how it would work? Reported to Uber (took half an hour to figure out how to - have to go online) but will see if they respond. Just more annoying than anything, but am worried that they might one day somehow access my account?

Uber scam. Repeated texts. Doesn’t look like they have access to my actual Uber account though.
