Caller: ALEX TAYLOR Appears to use the pretext of "Risk and Security Management" as if there was something wrong with your property. This is a bait to make you call him back. The fact that he left a card and asked you to call back will likely appear in an affidavit of service and is likely to be produced in court to obtain what is called "substituted service".

Caller: ALEX TAYLOR ALEX TAYLOR 0412 884 899 appears to be a PROCESS SERVER.
A process server is a person who officially delivers legal documents to individuals or corporations, such as court summons, subpoenas, and other legal notices. They ensure the documents are served correctly, provide proof of service (like an affidavit), and can help with locating individuals if needed. Process servers understand the legal requirements for proper delivery and can help avoid delays in court proceedings.
They: 1. Serve legal documents: They deliver a wide range of documents, including court summons, subpoenas, eviction notices, divorce papers, and complaints. 2. Ensure legal compliance: They are knowledgeable about the laws regarding process serving and make sure documents are delivered in a way that is compliant with court rules. 3. Provide proof of service: After a document is served, they provide an official document, such as an affidavit, to confirm the delivery occurred. 4. Locate individuals: If a recipient is difficult to find, a process server has the skills and resources to locate them to ensure they are served.
In many legal matters, there has to be "personal service".
Under NSW law, personal service is the most direct method of delivering court documents to a person by handing them a copy of the document. It can be achieved by giving the document directly to the person, or if they don't accept it, by placing it down in their presence and informing them of its nature. This is a specific form of service and differs from "ordinary service," which includes other methods like mail or email. It is likely similar in other states.
Personal service is by: 1. Direct Handover: The server gives a copy of the document to the person to be served, after confirming their identity. 2. If the document is not accepted: The server can put the document down in the person's presence and tell them what the document is. 3. Special circumstances: If the server is prevented from getting close by violence or the threat of violence, personal service can be effected by leaving the document as near as practicable to the person
