no need to call it back! Hacked phone number used by a telemarketer or potentially scammer?

If you call back you the following message:
"
Hi I'm really sorry if you got a missed call from my number it's not me. I believe my number has been stolen by telemarketer. Once again I'm sorry. Don't have to call me back.
"
Kind of unusual. Not sure how this is possible or if he is talking sh*t.

Hung up on me. Call center noise in the background. Sent SMS. nothing. I recommend blocking this number.

I answered with hello. Whether they were paying attention that early & heard or not, less than 10 seconds later, they hung up. 2.5 hours later I found a missed call, without leaving voicemail, or a follow up text. To borrow from someone in this sites 'Recent Comments' side feature, "Scum bags" sums up this caller nicely!

When I told them if it was solar crud I didn’t want to know AND we are on the do not call register.. they called me a f*ing bitch!

I called back and it went straight to a voicemail of some young guy saying “I’m sorry if you’ve received a call from my number, I believe my phone number has been hacked/stolen. Don’t call me back”.

This is somebody’s personal number that has been stolen by a telemarketer.

I called back the number 0412 868 543 and reached vm that did not mention the company name
