WE DO NOT COLD CALL to promote our services or to ask for any personal information. If anyone is calling and pretending to represent Smart Money Solutions, please DO NOT respond. We have reported the incident to Police and also registered as a scam with scamwatch.gov.au.
I took this call from 0411 265 111. The guy had a Canadian accent he asked for Trevor. He was very polite when I told him I'm not Trevor and he apologised for dialling the wrong number. Never bothered to answer as I don’t answer calls from mobiles I do not know Caller: I don’t know

Operator claimed to be from "Smart Money Solutions", supposedly got my details from CommSec as somebody interested in trading opportunities (which I am not).
Tried to sell me on an IPO by Stripe. I suspect it's a scam of some description - he definitely didn't get my number from CommSec.
A man with an accent said, “Hi I’m looking for ____ _____."
I said, "Yes who's speaking?"

Beware of this one - they do a slicker job of trying to make themselves seem more legitimate than other telemarketing scammers and make seemingly smaller 'asks' to begin with.
Similar to others, 'Smart Money Solutions', trying to tell me CommSec had referred them on and they wanted to share an opportunity relating to 'Stripe' payment solutions, then saying 'the only thing I need from you is your best email address today' to get this info across. I refused and advised i had not given any consent to CommSec so it could not be true and hung up. I suspect they are trying to piece together several pieces of personal information from different sources for identify theft and/or introduce phising links via the email.

Didn’t say anything when I answered. Here I was thinking I could make a new friend! I’ve never felt so alone! I called Smart Money Solutions and spoke to Obu. She's aware that someone has been pretending to be her and it's hurting her business. Coming from a strong telco background myself, I have instructed her to raise a complaint to Optus to cancel the phone number. If they do not act within 7 business days, she will file a complaint with the Telco ombudsman against Optus.
FYI - This is not her calling. She does not own this phone number.
Missed the call and calling back got "Optus advises that the number you have dialled has been disconnected." I received a call from this number but he hang up on me, I tried to call back in a minute but the phone was already disconnected Don't bother answering I looked up Smart Money Solutions number and called them, my number is on the government Do Not Call list so I wanted to check if it was really their company who rang. They say they don't make these cold calls and they respect the Do Not Call list, also that they know about the scammers. I believe them. I am definitely not someone who would be their customer anyway. The calls are spam, go ahead and block this number as it is being abused. Calls like this are scammers. All they want is to find a real name to connect to your number, to add value to that record to sell to other criminals. That's why they hang up as soon as you say or confirm your name, they have what they want. The reason the number doesn't answer when you call back is because they are using number spoofing - they are using VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) calls, so it's more like a Skype call than the phone, and their custom software allows them to show any pretend number they want. Often they use someone's "real" number, but the owner of that number has no idea that it was done to them. He asked if this was ...........
I said yes and he hung up straight away.
Dialed the number straight back and Optus advised that the number was disconnected.
Very strange...I answered the call- was asked if it was(name) and when I said, "yes", he hung up immediately. I called back and the number was disconnected.
