Just had the same bogus request from car we advertised on gumtree. Scum!!

Caller: Scammer

Beware of texts with the emails anthonypratt222 @ gmail.com and frankdonald5501 @ gmail.com . They tryed to scam me with my car ad on gumtree.

Following advertising car on Gumtree, I received a text from 0407 506 724 "Hi their (sic) I will (sic) like to know if your car is still safe? pls get back to me via email (markfish353 @ gmail.com) Email Only". Within 2 hours of ad going live.
Stupidly emailed and said "Yes its still for sale".

Due to the nature of my work i am a very busy man working all day,am a sailor am presently on-board, i don't have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here but i have my ANZ bank account link up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account ,please get back to me witth your BSB and account details or PayPal account so i can proceed with the payment and contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and delive it in NT for my son .Await your reply .
I have now blocked email address and number.

Posted add on Gumtree for a washing machine. Received text 0407 506 724 asking me to get back to them on email elizabethkeartland @ gmail.com with final asking price.

Emailed and got a story unable to call due to nature of work. Asked for more history and said I don't mind adding an extra $100 for you just to take down posting. I am already in talks with freighters that will handle the pickup and delivery.

Well then too busy to do some washing then lol :-)

I just recieved about the same as all the other comments
I emailed the guy back to make him aware of my occupation, and the fact that it doesn't take a detective to work out this is a scam. Funny......I haven't heard back from him
He stated that he didn't have access to a phone as he was working for the army, I asked why then did I recieved a text message from him......funny again

We received several emails today from this low life scammer with this number. My partner advertised his car on Gumtree and received 5 different emails pretending to be different people. We suspected it was a scam by the jumbled questions. Asking for bank details and pay pal account numbers .

Yep, he's at it again. This time his partner Kim is interested in my car, advertised on Gumtree and could I kindly email her at kimben.au @ gmail.com with my final price. I sent him an SMS that went something like this. Go f**k yourself w****r. Do people seriously fall for this s**t. Needless to say I haven't received a reply.

I got the same email from a person called Raza Farhady with the exact message. This is definitely a scam.

Same as above.. name used for me was Elizabeth Keartland.. same story but left out the army stuff, offered $100 extra to take my listing down I had on Gumtree, blah blah blah, talking to freighters, asked for bank or PayPal details. Complete scammer

Nearly fell for before I remembered gumtrees warning about scammers and now see this number has been linked to so many scam sms's

I responded t the first email as the scammer asked if this could be shipped to China and the scammer would be willing to pay for shipping.

Regardless, this is a scammer that accidentally texted me his other scam email address,

Received SMS text from 0407 506 724 asking about my Gumtree ad only posted less than 2 hours earlier, asked me to e-mail my final price to elizabethkeartland30 @ gmail.com. Check-dialed no. but disconnected.
Seems that it's not the only gmail account/name on this number!

Geez I should have done a search before I replied to his email - the one I got was geocollns60 @ gmail.com

Just listed my car on gumtree last night and got their text at 4am this morning which I thought was odd.
