Answered, very distant & although English speaking couldn’t really understand the jist of the conversation. Was something about air bnb, but beyond this who knows. Just did not sit rightly at all... have since blocked number. Best not give much info.

Caller from Hong Kong, English speaking offering investment in AirBnB. Sounded exactly like the scam exposed by 60 minutes last week with people arrested.

He knew my name, I wouldn't confirm who I was until he did, so he hung up. Couldn't call back, said number was disconnected.

Caller: Some scam - MoneyMarket? Survey? free iPad Call centre, silent when answered then answered after a few seocnds once I started to sayu "hello?" - He said something about being from "Money Market" and he knew my first name. Then said he was doing survey and I was one of the select few who would go into draw for iPad prize. I kept asking for his website and talking over him and he got upset and rang off. Fun to play with these trolls if you have a spare few minutes.

Called about an Airbnb IPO investment opportunity. Told me to go google "airbnb IPO" to check out all the pages of information about it. Then asked me for my email address and read it out loud to confirm, to which I said no. I think they got my details from leaked data from a recent GoldSilver data breach. He hung up before I could provide my real email address (spam@blahblah...).
Very slow speaking "English" accent that was obviously fake.

Caller: One of the dodgy brothers Caller claimed to be a David Fray (Fry?) from an underwriter in Hong Kong specialising in small cap IPOs. American accent claiming to be from New England (ie Boston). older guy probably in his 60s. Claimed to have got my details from a form lodged with Commsec. Wanted to let me know that their PR company had emailed a while back to let me know about upcoming Air BnB float and he was following up.

Caller rang twice in quick succession, leaving a message on my answer service:
"[my name] can you hear me OK?"
Rang again today and left an empty voice mail. I'm not going to call back.
