David33 via text message. From a messaging service that does not support replies. Asked me to e-mail him and his e-mail address is davidaghan33 @ gmail.com. All sounding very similar to your other comments so thank you for the warnings you have already posted

This guy contacted me on this number and on gumtree. Seems suss and wants my Paypal details to try buy phone but says he’s in NSW and Paypal is only way of payment. Won’t give any other details about him self. Luckily I googled his number and found this thread. Thanks!

I got scammed to send $1000 worth of camera gear via Gumtree ad I was selling it on to Victoria from this number plus it was done through PayPal and he said he put overpaid and I was getting what I thought was legit PayPal email that ended up been bullsh*t. I deposited $350 into an account. Ive been to the bank and thankfully they had not withdrawn it so I should get it back. Sent Camera gear to Victoria by courier was signed for and I am dealing with Police. Tried to call him before I was sus he said he had hearing problems and arranged someone who sounded like a legit person conversing between us even with the gaps to communicate. Clever but expensive error

This guy who called himself DAVID contact me by SMS to my mobile in response to my lost cat on Gumtree.

He then used my mobile number to register with OneWaySMS online company in Melbourne using a random name (Toby Aghan)
He texted me again and asked me for the Code that was sent out to my txt.

We are amazed how many people he has scammed over the years and no one has tracked him down

The purpose of this complaint is NOT to
alert the public that I have been conned into thinking he genuinely found my pet but more so for action to be taken against this owner of this mobile number who continues to masquerade himself in different circumstances for fraudulent activities and taking advantage of members of the public.
In this instance he is using my mobile number to register with agency so that it his activities cannot be tracked to him.

Please advise me who best handles this matter.

Yea this guy saw my ad on gumtree looking for casual work and he said he's a car sales agent and he has work for me but was acting kind of fishy. So I googled his number and found this page. Thanks and keep it up guys!

this guy claims he wants to buy car from me, says he has sent payment via paypal, then wants me to send him $1000 for transport fee before paypal will release his payment. He sends emails that appear to be from paypal so beware.

Dim-wit scammer. Trying to buy stuff from me on Gumtree. Wasting my time. Pretty legitimate emails that look like they're from paypal.
Ignore and report this guy.
